more likely you just have low standards

We buy these and the quality is fine. The ingredients says 100% chicken breast. Nothing about added water?

my cooking standards are very high actually and I'd like to think I'm quite a good chef

Then just imagine how nice your food would taste with decent ingrediants rather than low grade chicken thats pumped full of water and salt

Farm foods do 3kg of frozen chicken breasts for £10 right? (1kg per pack)

I eat a 2 - 4 chicken breasts every day so this would work out great for me. (I need a high protein diet with lifting)

If your happy to eat these full of growth hormones, salt and water then Good deal but I would personally prefer to become vegetarian than eat this. Organic, free range chicken all the way.

All chicken is pumped full of water so that's a lame excuse not to buy this. For the value you're getting top quality protein

Andy we all can't afford 'free range' 'corn fed' chicken, but tbh it is awful stuff but what do you expect for £5

The person who said that this meat is pumped with growth hormones please show us your proofs. Just that you will know growth hormones are banned in the EU and that was always the case.

Brine actually makes the meat more tender when cooking unless you have specific low salt diet there is nothing wrong with this. Any body who pay more than £5/kg is paying the salary of the marketing person.

These are reasonable quality. Obviously they are likely to have water added (as with most mid range chicken breasts and below) and also water is used in the freezing process, adding a few % to the weight.

These are usually on offer at 3kg for a tenner which is brilliant value for large and tasty chicken breasts. They always come out tender and are often shaped and sized similarly which makes cooking for multiple people easier
