Not bad for the game and aim controller at this price.

Can be a bit cheaper if you are a member I believe.

I feel bad for anyone who wasted money on this VR garbage especially PSVR.

Tried it have you? No need to feel bad, I for one am loving it and happy with my purchase.

Is it worth it honestly?

If the money is going to make a significant dent then it's not worth it. If your circumstances are good then why not. Resi 7 is awesome in VR, Farpoint looks great and there are some other decent titles. It will take time to get a good library of AAA compatible games. When it comes down to it, £500 is about 5 nights out on the ale. Stay at home and play!

Looking forward to this. Hopefully show off some more of the PSVR potential. Let's see if Amazon will price match my preorder. Hot by the way.

same here, hopefully amazon will follow suit

Does look cool. Had watched a video of someone previewing the title. It seemed a tad boring but the concept is there.
Would love to see a cod/Bf quality game in this set up.

Best game I played at the psvr promotion thingy they did a while back

For some reason im a gold member with Shopto so I always get 5% off, £66.50 for me, shame they stopped doing Quidco a few years ago

Still cheaper than a PC VR headset on its own. I believe PSVR is a fantastic entry point for VR but value for something like this is all relative. I feel i have already had my money worth and am excited for what's coming next but it will spend a good bit of time on the shelf.
My advice to friends looking to buy a PSVR is go halves with a mate and share it, it's not something you will use too regularly. Having said that some multiplayer titles are well worth a play too and extend life span. Werewolves within is my most played title and star trek bridge simulator looks like it might also get some hours.

Thats good because thats the only AAA game this gimmick will get. Enjoy!

PSVR is great but this game has had worryingly mediocre previews since conception. I can see the reviews now, wonderful accessory but average game, gun will be great when other games support it (which they probably won't).

Thanks but I've clocked up plenty of hours already with Dirt Rally, Driveclub, Resident Evil as well as some of the smaller games.

Don't feel bad, I can easily afford it and enjoying it loads.

It's not a controller housing, it's an actual controller.

no need to feel bad, been gaming for 35 years and psvr is by far the most enjoyable in that time

Ha yeah, I expect he's salty because the only deals he posted went freezing, so has resulted to bad mouthing all deals.

I've got a gun attachment from the PS3/Move - will that work with Farpoint or do you have to get the PSVR Aim?

/agree. I'm a big 40 year old kid and despite not putting more than 30 hours into it yet, PSVR has provided the most transformative gaming experiences I've ever had. Driveclub and batman alone justified the price of entry to me. Don't see why people have to dump on other people's enjoyment of something when it isn't to their detriment at all. Depressing.

Me too. No doubt I'd love more games but Resi, Batman and Rush of Blood are nothing short of amazing.

Had assumed it was just a plastic housing for the Move controller, but now I see it's not, it's even more ridiculous. Not only is it fugly, it looks unwieldy.

More money-grabbing fom $ony
That's purely because there's already a lot of 3rd party products that would suffice which they wouldn't get a cut on.
As if PSVR owners haven't already paid their premium to ease this technology into the mainstream - it's a pass from me then

The new vr gun will be compatible for future psvr games.

For anyone not sure about how well the game works control wise, I got to play the demo for this before PS VR launched. It was the first thing I played in VR and it sold me on it. The demo was great fun, controlled well and showed a lot of potential. It was really quite immersive and seeing other life sized characters' holograms standing next to you, talking to each other with proper motion capture for the faces as well is pretty amazing. The gun controller itself can be used for other games but it was built specifically for this game to start off with and it has full 360 aiming, something you don't get with normal PS VR controllers.

For comfort, the gun controller feels great in the hands. Feels natural and like the on screen weapon when in VR, it's light and has just enough weight to it. Accuracy wise, it was 1:1 aiming. There was some challenge in the demo at bits when it threw loads of enemies at me and my accuracy was 100% because it just works and it's much easier to just tilt a shotgun up and shoot something that's in the air, flying at you whilst you look around for other dangers.

It also has 2 analogue sticks with the front one being used for free movement and it works really well, it's the proof that this is the way to go instead of that teleporting stuff other games do. Feels less restrictive and adds more immersion.

My main hope after this is that we see more games like this making use of free movement and the gun controller and some taking both of those and applying it to co-op and multiplayer.

Just quoting you so you'll get notified. It's not just a plastic shell that houses PS Move controllers, it does a whole lot more. Standard PS Move controllers aren't fully up to the job which resulted in people getting motion sickness and stuff in testing alongside a whole bunch of tracking issues I'd imagine.

I've played a demo before and does seem that it hasn't got much story and it's more like a Demo (Hope it has got a kick ass story) The Aiming down the sights for me was fantastic, felt quite real.

I'll jump in at this price. Nice one poster.

MPA83

"Gun-based shooter" is a small subset of games but within the already small subset that is VR games makes it a fairly niche gadget.
Saying that, I haven't tried it myself and with comments showing up like

Aiming down the sights for me was fantastic

I can see that VR might bring something new to the table which they tried and failed at with 3D TV (Black Ops II aiming down the sights was hillarious in 3D).
It stll begs the question, why not allow the existing gun solutions?

Not to mention the price of a PS4 to play it on, and a HD TV, and then the cost of a house to keep them all in. Definitely not worth it when you factor all that in.

I can't play resi 7 on it, I feel sick after a few mins. I can't bring myself to play it
