This isn't discounted very often & seems decent price (normally £16.99 on UK eShop) - I've just bought it but not played yet. Obviously need to access the SA eShop to get this price.

Great game. Excellent graphics
Is this just a Whipeout rip off? I haven't heard of it before.

It's similar but plays faster I think, no guns to. A lot of quick instinctive controls needed

Faster? Seriously, I couldn't even keep up with Whipeout! Sounds like a good game to master though.
Have read that this is as good as an Fzero title in everything but the name. Accurate?

Easier to control than Wipeout I think. The ships are more responsive to the controls where I find Wipeout is a bit wallowy.

That's the issue I found with it, there seemed to always be a delay and the ships wobbled too much
Have they fixed the crazy rubber banding on this?
Is this better than redout?

Is this better than redout?

I've not played either but the Nintendolife review of Redout says:
"It’s a pretty good game, but there’s a lingering sense that Redout could’ve been so much more if it were buffed up in a few key areas. The lacklustre online, complete omission of local multiplayer, and the overall shoddy performance hold this one back from being something great, and it’s a real shame. Even so, the stellar art style, catchy soundtrack, and in-depth career mode ensure that it’s a satisfying experience for those who can put up with the difficulty. Redout is certainly worth your time, but only if you would consider yourself a fan of this rather niche sub-genre. If that isn’t you, it may still be worth a punt, but we’d recommend trying out FAST RMX over this one."

I've not played it yet so I can't say but the Nintendolife review when it was released talks about differences between the original Wii U version & the Switch release:
"Championship mode now has only three courses per cup, making them easier to complete in short sessions, and in a similar vein boost orbs now seem to be a bit bigger and less picky - or at the very least have larger hitboxes - again making the game easier. However this is offset by the fact that the AI is greatly improved. 'Rubber-banding' is all but gone, but the computer players are far more savvy to the ways of the racecourse. If you get a good lead you can keep it fairly hassle-free, but getting there is harder than it's ever been."

I've got redout and really enjoy it, so if this is supposedly better I may have to take a punt.
If you like futuristic racers, this is an essential purchase on the Switch. It's a decent price normally, at this price it's a steal! 4 player local split screen too.
