FAST TRACK Security Manchester Airport when you click and collect at Duty Free - £12.25

41
Refreshed 4th Jul (Posted 2nd Jul)
Click and collect an item at the world duty free and receive 2 free fast track passes for the security queue.

A whopping deal I must say, in this instance I bought P20 sun cream 100ml for £12.25 (costs £9.90 in primark) and got these passes. I then noticed the p20 on sale for £9.99 and bought that telling them at the counter. They also do a prime promise and if you find it cheaper at other high street stores you can be refunded the difference.

You must ‘reserve’ an item atleast 24hrs before flying.

Shows what an absolute joke 'Duty Free' is !

Mens Boss Bottled 100ml

Duty Free £50.20
John Lewis £47.00

Why aren't trading standards all over these jokers?

Used this back in May and got passes through, they don’t come immediately, usually after items picked

Like the people who buy 3 small boxes of Maltesers for £10 LoL. Went on holiday the week before last the prices was a joke. Bottles of vodka double the price of the shops where we was on holiday. I guess they can do what they want if there’s a rrp and take off the tax at 20% there’s ur duty free lol
Bottle of vodka rrp £55
Tesco £30
duty free will probably be £44 as 20% taken off rrp.
Never understood y I see people always buying crap from there.

I recall a few years ago they were lambasted for their prices and told to stop price gouging and they did it by about a few percent. That's enough, apparently?

Multibags of Cadburys for £15. Sure.
I travel frequently and it's frustrating being forced to walk through duty free.
Cheaper to buy on the flight. I bought 2 x 1L of 50% Smirnoff for £20 on a Thomas Cook flight, way cheaper than it was at Manchester airport
The whole idea is to buy something cheap, get your two free £5 fast passes plus a free hot drink and if needs be get a price match.
Yes of course duty free isn’t cheap nowadays but factor in what your getting free and it’s a great deal.
Remember when travelling in the EU you are still paying tax. Its only on flights out where the saving work.

For example at world duty free BACARDI Superior 1 litre is £12, its £18 in Morrisions. But thats outside the EU.

and £10 on a flight
There is no duty free in the EU, excise duty is paid in the country you buy the goods and it’s a lot higher in the U.K. hence why people go abroad to stock up to benefit from the free movement of goods. Airport shopping is however tax free (VAT) so there is a benefit buying from the retail outlets where you can save 20% on normal high street prices.
Got myself a mascara, 2 security passes and 2 free hot drinks for £19.50 thanks

I completely agree it’s ridiculous. But remember they have a price promise. Buy the product, get the passes and a free hot drink, fill in their price promise online and you have yourself 2 free passes and a drink for your troubles. Trust me when I say you need the passes at terminal 1/3 (T2 is actually decent whenever I’ve gone).

I had to call the number it gave on the email...funnily enough the info I gave was easy enough I woulda thought just calling would suffice. No reference or anything given to them.
Meant to use this in May, and did a click and collect.
Ended up paying for an upgrade to Business with Emirates so got free Fast track anyway.
Didn't use the vouchers and didn't collect the items, not sure how linked up they are as they don't take any payment details when you reserve an item so can't see how they can chase you for payment if you don't collect items reserved but still use the Fast Track pass?
paulj482 h, 40 m ago

and £10 on a flight

But also worth checking before you fly on the prices as for example. Bombay 1L is

£20 on BA
£14 on Thomas Cook
£16 on Thompson
£24 at Worldduty free
£22 at Sainsbury's

Some times duty free is cheaper if they have a offer on in store, But like everything its worth knowing the prices before hand.

Also some prices have to be purchased before you fly. Just to make it more complex.

Unless you are travelling out of Europe No such thing as Duty Free I think

Interesting point!

I see this on their T&Cs:

"If the Click & Collect order is not collected, the customer will be liable for the full cost of the Security FastTrack Pass (£5 per person)."

But all they have is your email address and phone number!

I travelled through T1 last month on a Tuesday morning and it was fine.
I bought some p20 for stanstead, got the fast pass through but they cancelled the order as was oos do you think I can still use the fast pass
Same for East Midlands, the cheapest item is the Hama Snap Camera Cover at £3.99 - and then you can return this within 30 days to any Dixon’s Travel, Currys or PC World store in the UK - so just get the passes, then return the item after your holiday?

Possible. But better to get something you need. If you use their price promise it’s beneficial as you won’t be paying over the odds either..

True, but if you collect anything like suncream and it's over 100ml and only have hand luggage you can't bring it back with you... which in that case it's then better to get something and return it for free to get fast track

True, hopefully you’ll be using the sun cream! I did see that lense for 3.99 myself, thought about it and decided against the effort of returning it. Although 3.99 for 2 passes is still cheaper than £5 each!

Yeah, if you're struggling to find something the £3.99 thing might be your best bet... return it in the airport on the way back :P

You still pay VAT on stuff bought when flying to the EU. That's how you can move goods freely around the EU.
Thanks for this, it's ideal for me as I prefer not to pay to check a bag in, and usually pick up some sunscreen and some drink air-side. It took me 45 minutes to get through security at Manchester airport two weeks ago and I nearly missed my flight. They seem to have slowed the regular queue down since they introduced priority boarding recently; no doubt in order to make more people pay for it. Hot.

There will soon be a queue at fast track full of hukders
Cheapest thing I can find is a lens cap for £3.99 Here for Manchester.

Does this pass cover you for outbound and return?
Edited by: "Longy" 9th Jul
Outbound only
I find that the biggest problems at Manchester is getting back in through passport control when a couple of flights coincide.
I noticed if you "manage my booking" via the email you can change the amount of tickets for free, I haven't tried it as I don't need more than two34302517-t3rm0.jpg
Nice, I only need two too but thats a bargain for 9!!!
Please don’t overkill this and get it stopped for everyone. Only get as many as you need.
