Hi, can you elaborate a bit, I've researched these and seem to unanimously receive high praise. Was a there a specific exercise that caused you problems? Thanks in advance.

It was mainly barbell curls and hammer curls that did it, maybe it was just me though but i had to stop using them because i'm pretty sure they gave me tennis elbow/golfers elbow type problems and i had no previous trouble before using them.

Thanks for replying. I wondered whether these could cause added stress but everywhere I've researched haven't mentioned any problems experienced - I guess every body is different though. Will give them a go and see how I get on.

Thanks again
Gave me tennis elbow as well. Shame as it really helped with grip strength and forearm training. Everybody will be different though.
It is also worth noting they don't fit all weights. I have a set of dumbbells at home (think they are generic / York style with cast discs) and the bar is too short.
I suspect the tendon problems were from overuse.

I will not be using them for everything as your forearms/grip will be getting permanently hammered and you will have issues. But I think they will be great for changing things up every so often.
i stopped using them in the gym. reading from the comments, i did get tennis elbow during the time I was using these...

now, i just use them as extra firm foam rollers.

its not just the bar length, a few reviews mention that the internal diameter is too bit much for some standard 1 inch handles and they spin about rather than stay still
dont worry if you miss them - think they have been on every day for the past week

Did you just start using them for everything and full sessions though?
I only ask as I would expect problems if anyone did to be honest. Once I have used them for a few weeks I will report back

That is hardly the fault of the product though, They have been made to fit commercial gym weights.
If you are training at home with cheap <15KG dumbells these are not exactly going to set your gains on fire anyway as adding weight is the key.
EDIT: Not getting at anyone by the way, Just pointing out that these are generally aimed at seasoned gym users who will be using commercial gear.

where did the 15kg come from? bit silly
i am not saying its the fault of the product but the fault of the description for not clarifying
standard olympic bar is 28mm so its probably only a couple of mm difference .. but an important one

You can't use it for everything even if you wanted to, it only fit free weights in my gym. So its just a chore to lug them around the gym after you finish with free weights and do anything else other than free weights.

Most of the home dumbbell sets only go upto around 15KG each, Not sure why my comment is silly?

silly because it was a throwaway snooty comment looking down on a home trainer... how the hell do home sets only go to 15kg?
as an elite training expert i am sure you are aware of the existence of weight plates for sale?
you even have weights at home - only 15kg..... oh just wait til leeparsons catches you

It was not a "snooty" comment at all, It was just stating the facts. Your argument is so stupid it beggars belief and I would kindly ask you keep your assumptions to yourself.
you only have to go onto argos for example and look at the cheap dumbbell sets, That is what "most" home trainers will buy. The most weight you can usually get on them is about 15kg per side due to how short the bar is and the style of plate that comes with them. If you try and put the bigger plastic discs onto them it becomes quite hard to use the dumbbell for most things.
Not sure why you feel the need to try and throw insults at me either but if that makes you feel like a big man you go ahead. For the record I have been training for 20 years so have a bit of experience. I started out with the york weights myself so know the limitations of them.

you are the one making assumptions about what 'most' use
loads of deals posted for sets which can easily go over 15kg

I meant using them for every workout where possible, Pretty sure it would play havok with forearms ect.
I could see them being useful for dips too, Not sure if you tried?

Did I say you cannot get more than 15KG Dumbbells? No.
I know at least 4 people who train at home and they all have the sets i mention.
What I have said is based on facts gathered by myself, Not assumptions.

Also try typing in dumbbells on ebay for example, Almost every listing is for upto a 20-30kg set.

I would say my facts are pretty near to the truth but feel free to prove me wrong.

Lol this started with you saying i was making a snooty comment and you come out with that cracker? X)

MOST people looking to train at home will buy the dumbbell sets from ebay/argos ect that are 15kg each. Because they are cheap and more than heavy enough for the average person. Trying to say otherwise is just stupid and as i said, prove me wrong instead of being an a**.
To clarify I have 4 friends who definitely have these cheap weights as I have seen them. I am pretty sure another friend has the same type going by what he paid for them but as I have not actually seen them I wont go making assumptions as this seems to get you upset

I am not arguing that at all, But for the most part people would not bother in my experience.
... Anyway, heat added OP, I bought them a few days ago and they seem to be working effectively, having read the comments I'll be cautious about overusing them! Don't miss out guys, it's a really good price! Thanks for posting OP!
