Still prefer to spend my money on the much more splendiferous re-mastered edition - £12.99 at HMV. A waste of £9.32 IMHO. ;-)
For an extra £3 odd, get the improved picture but much more importantly, the apparently wonderful commentary by JC(!) on every episode.
    Not voting.

Of course we have all seen these time and time again but this set is surely a must have for your collection.

I'm very dubious about the 'remaster' on that set, I have this one and the picture quality for the time it was shot is very good. The Cleese commentary would be good though.

I had this one, bought the remastered version and it is noticably better (at least in my opinion)
Ended up trading this one into cex for £8, which I thought was pretty good.

No - the re-mastered set is!

Exactly why I gave the commentary prominence. ;-)

I have the original - watched and watched and watched - until word perfect! (had them on vhs as well).

As someone who owns the re-mastered version, so am I. Still, I haven't got a copy of the non-remastered to compare against and you can't magically enhance poor quality video, despite what CSI might like you believe.

It is a waste of money buying the version linked in this thread though. The John Cleese commentaries are well worth the little extra it costs to buy the re-mastered set.

actually the re-master has worked wonders tbh. it really has made a difference, the colours seem better and there is a lot less picture noise. personally i'd get that, this is a cracking price though

    love it

The remastered version isn't at least to me noticably better than the original. (I have both versions). In fact I would go as far as to say I was very disappointed by the quality of the remastered version. I wouldn't buy the remastered version based on video quality at all, the extras are worth having a view once though. Fawlty towers was filmed using standard definition video and it was never particularly great quality, so I really shouldn't have expected a miracle with the remastered version.

£8.05 if you buy them as the two seperate series.
