The supernatural gunplay of the F.E.A.R. series returns in this sequel to the chilling first-person shooter from Warner Bros.

The original F.E.A.R. is rightly considered one of the most frightening titles available on current formats. Mixing slow motion gun battles with a supernatural storyline and shocking gameplay moments created a truly unique shooter. Originally known simply as Project Origin, this sequel picks up where the original left off, giving players the same intense scares and satisfying gunplay the original is known for. The mysterious Alma makes a welcome return, her childlike appearance and slow movements inspired by horror films such as The Ring. Entering as a new team member, players must unravel the events that led to the destruction of a US city in the original title.

The sharp, original gun battles of F.E.A.R. also return, once again allows players to slow down time at the push of a button and take on multiple enemies at once. Enemies? intelligence has been drastically improved, who will now use the more open environments to their advantage and fight aggressively in close-quarter battles.

F.E.A.R. 2 ? Project Origin takes the scares and action that made the original so compelling, improving on its solid foundations and continuing its unsettling storyline.

Beginning shortly before the ending of F.E.A.R., a Special Forces squad is on a routine mission when the city of Auburn is rocked by a supernatural explosion. Alma, a girl with immense power and a thirst for revenge, has unleashed her wrath upon the city and thrown it into chaos.

Tension builds as the squad must combat enemy forces and the supernatural as they struggle to find a way to stop Alma and uncover the mysterious forces arrayed against them before it?s too late.

Why negative, this s a great price !!

This is the best price I've seen for this game, and it has very good reviews.
I'd get it if I didn't already have about 10 other games I found on here still to play!

£12 is HOT, £10 is HOTTER

heat added op, had £5 voucher burning a hole in my pocket so £6.95 for mine, be able to play online with my little bro!

"£12 is HOT, £10 is HOTTER" lmao. agreed.

This is a great game.

Hotter than my pants... ;o)
Especially with the 10 quid voucher I won. Yay. ;o)

I paid £29.99 for this title (back when GAME was offering 9% QuidCo incentive) as a pre-order prior to release on 13 February this year.

My playing was interrupted by the release of "Killzone 2" two weeks thereafter, and I didn't really return until a few weeks ago.

I don't get on with the online multiplayer game(s) as I find the on-screen character weightless (a bit like the "TimeSplitters" series), and it bugs me enough not to bother playing online.

However, I can thoroughly recommend the single player story mode. A great first person shooter title to pay with all the lights off with just a flicker of light from your TV.

I have read that some players find the premise scary, others compare it to "a poor man's 'Dead Space'", &/or others brag about how quickly they have completed the offline game. I don't find it scary, have yet to play the sealed "Dead Space" I've been keeping for a lull in gaming (if that ever occurs) & I am purposely taking my time playing through the levels enjoying being part of the experience & investigating the scenes of gore, death & destruction I find as I venture forward treating the environment as if it were real.

The artificial intelligence of the enemy you have to battle does not make the game easy (depending on the difficulty setting you opt for), and there is some real depth to the way in which they approach you & develop a strategy of attack.

I never got around to playing the first title in the franchise, but if there is going to be a third I will certainly be wanting to play it (regardless of whether I reach the end of "...Project Origin" or not).

Two different playable demos exist on the PlayStation Network, as well as a free downloadable map pack for the online multiplayer aspect of the title.

There are also additional Game Packs for extra outlay if you feel inclined (although I have not bothered to date).

I think it was a good buy at the price I paid... & a definite bargain at £11.95, if not under a tenner.

Just a pity it didn't sell as well as it could have done... but I suspect the release of "Killzone 2" (and, arguably, "SOCOM: (U.S. Navy SEALs) Confrontation") wiped out a lot of the revenue due to the timing of the release date.
