The RRP on this US made Telecaster is an eye-watering £2,086, so a theoretical saving of £1,087. It's got all the vintage appointments such as '62 custom pickups, brass saddles etc. and it's made from 100 year old pine. Part of the limited run 'Telebration' series, this particular one sold out quite quickly. This model has been hovering around the £1400 mark for months and guitar guitar have only just dropped it to less than the price of a US standard tele. Comes with a very nice vintage style case too. Only two in stock.

You always need a fourth guitar, you only start questioning yourself at ten.

if i was rich....

Is it me, or does that neck look wonderful?

Beautiful. For a millisecond I was tempted to put it on my card! Only 1 in stock now!

The RRP is a nonsense. Nice enough guitar, but you'd never see it on sale for the RRP (or at least you'd never see it sold for the RRP).

TBH...the word "Pine" in the description put me off...not the luthier's choice of wood, surely?

would it be any good as an investment ?
If I had a spare grand lying round ...will it be worth much more in 10 years ?

Ah, but it's a tele. Built to be basic. One of the first Esquire Teles made by Leo was in fact made of pine so it's a tribute to those guitars. It's a great tone wood.

I think 10 years is a bit too soon. I've got some 40 and 30 year old guitars and they're worth quite a bit now. 1972 triple humbucker Gibson SG Custom and an Ibanez AM205. SG cost me £700 about 15 years ago with refretting it and doing it up, should get around £2500 for it, AM205 I swapped for a Patrick Eggle that I had custom made and hated, so that cost me about £700 and probably worth about £1500 or more. Not for sale though so it doesn't really matter.

If you have a grand spare to invest, I'd probably find a decent stocks and shares fund and leave it in that for many years, could well return more than this guitar ever would.

Oh I agree entirely, hence why I said "theoretically" and made it clear that it's been £1400 for some time now.

However, you need to look at it for what it is. As a good comparison a US standard tele starts at around £1000 now but with that you don't get that gorgeous vintage neck with spaghetti decal, vintage tuners, original brass saddles and ashtray bridge, 62 custom pickups and the lovely retro case. I know what I'd rather be buying.

I do like Teles and this one is a gem. Looks like Gram Parsons one. What a beaut.

Call me cynical, however why not purchase a "Squier Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster" this being also made of Pine and gets rave reviews for about a third of the asking price of the Fender, I know that in 10 years or so this won't be worth the projector Fender might, however unless you have a spare £1000 go for the one above.

I know where I'd put my money.

Maybe you should, you know, learn something about guitars before trolling such nonsense.

Maybe your post would be a little more honest if the alleged 'saving' was based on the price you admit it has been at for some time now? It would seem you have traded a little accuracy in the pursuit of extra heat?

This deal is sooooooo cold! Especially when you could buy 250 of these! Best

wow it's really beautiful.great deal.heat added.

Definitely a nice looking Tele to drool over - but probably a bit too pricey for general gig combat duties....oO

Of course if you're rich enough to not mind leaving it on a stand
in the back corner of an @rse end of civilization live music pub.................(_;)

I genuinely laughed when I read this. In the 6 odd years I've been a member I've only posted a handful of deals. I don't come here for "extra heat" as you so eloquently put it.

And besides I'm 43 years old, not 13!

...looks like it's sold out guys. I'll expire it. Wouldn't want me getting "extra heat" due to an inaccuracy.

Beautiful guitar, if I were made of money I'd replace my meagre Mexican standard tele with this in a heartbeat!
