Was looking for a new running backpack and came across this. I’ve always wanted one but settled for a cheaper variant due to the original price a few years ago thought others maybe be interested.

Obviously the price is coming down as the new series 6 has been released but for majority of activities I can’t see many needing the 5 over the 6.

Am I correct in assuming this doesn't allow music for running?
if you go via nus its still worth the extra £12 for sapphire screen

The 5 “plus”series has the music function not the 5, although apparently the battery takes a hit. I have a 5s and get about a week between charges. Fantastic watch. Wouldn’t be without it now.
I'd hold out, it's been this price and cheaper since July now and most likely drop again over the next couple of months (black friday etc) as they clear stock

You are, you need the 5 plus version or newer for music
Got this in the 209 deal from John Lewis. It's good functionally but it's massive and really clunky to use. Never wear it.

I had one and got rid also. I'm now looking at the vivoactive 3 which I think is pretty much the same screen but a lot lighter and cheaper at £150.
Having problems with battery life, supposed to be about 2 weeks with normal usage, mines barely lasts 4 days, so many comments on Garmin forums and for years now and still nothing to fix it.

I'd always go for the 's' versions otherwise they are huge watches.

If looking at the 6 series you need the "Pro" model for music. The other fenix 6 watches don't offer it.
