Friendly reminder to try to take conscious decisions to avoid palm oil products where possible. As delicious as Nutella is, it's full of the stuff!

I saw plenty in stock yesterday in my local SW London.
Decided to buy a 400g jar of their own hazelnut spread for £1.09, its taste is as good as Nutella's and the price is much sweeter

does Nutella contain no palm oil at all?

It does, though it is on the SLIGHTLY friendlier scale in that it is Sustainably sourced apparently.

About why palm oil is bad?

Lots of sources online a mere google search away. Don't want to sound preachy so won't ramble on here!
Ultimately eat what you enjoy.

i didn't know whether your concern with using palm oil was on an environmental basis or health concern

I use to love this stuff but after I received a jar over Xmas and read the label, it's quite shocking how very little chocolate or Hazelnut is in there.... Basically your paying a hefty price for what is essentially Sugar & Palm oil.

Same here. Kids love it!
Heat btw. Love nutella!
Lidl in Maidenhead had lots on the shelf.
Yummy palm oil!
Tempted by the price but would like to help support the no palm oil stuff. Are they're any no palm oil alternatives for Nutella?

Haha kids didn't even notice & still call it "nutella" or "chocwut spled" .
fattyuk5 h, 28 m ago

While i wholehartedly agree, the inconsistency of the moderators on this forum is infuriating. This is a political statement. I had a comment deleted for political reasons when suggesting people check the background before purchasing Giro, Bell, Blackburn or Camelbak cycling products.

Wow had no idea about camelbak - that is a serious shame. Thanks for making me aware.

My standpoint exactly. Luckily I just got a new water bottle from another supplier but I won't buy Camelbak again.
Don’t forget the £1 digital credit if you don’t need it urgently.
getting fat again, thanks !

Same. It's basically chocolate butter with 50% sugar. Sometimes I think more knowledge is a bad thing. I can probably never enjoy this product again :-/

SPREAD IS completely DIFFERENT TO "BUTTER".. It is like comparing vegetable spread to BUTTER.

I am quiet sure your reference to 70 % hazelnut will be a "hazelnut butter" rather than a "spread".
