Ferrex 40V Cordless Circular Saw at Aldi for £35

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Very good price for a 40V circ saw. (Actually 36V nominal) if you don't mind the colour scheme..

Sold bare so can use their existing 40/20V 2.5/5Ah batteries.
You'll need the larger one with this.
The nearest equivalent I have seen is the Makita or Hikoki(was Hitachi) 36V for £180 bare.

Battery and charger £30 + £15 if you don't have them.

I've seen a review of 36V units and these are in a different class - a true replacement for corded units, i've had 18V before and it just won't cut the mustard.

Also selling on 20th Oct, recip saw and jigsaw, again excellent prices if you are already into the battery ecosystem.

£25

£20

Don't confuse these with Aldi's other brands, the 18V are not compatible, (niether the 16V or 12V) workzone or other type of ferrex.
All made by different manufacturers.

The old 18V Workzone was made by Scheppach (?) I think,
These 40/20V are made/resold by Conmetall Meister GmbH.

Battery should be included at that price, £85 all in. Bit expensive for an unknown brand.
you cant quote makita or hikoki as a near equivalent to this, they are that much dearer for a reason, if i took this to work I'd burn it out in a week

18v makita is £85 bare but will last a damn sight longer
good luck finding any batteries, Aldi seem to be selling 40volt tools without any 40 volt batteries on sale anywhere

Think this range will be gone for good soon.
They are also selling it with charger and battery.
Plenty of 40V batteries available at Aldi online
Aldi seem to have got themselves into a real mess by selling tools with different battery platforms at the same time and then not supporting them properly. Very foolish.
Says the battery and charger are available online from today?

No I think they are just making quick money by keep changing from one size too the other they are probably not bothered about long term what happens too the customers otherwise, they wouldn't be able too sell as much stuff, this way there's peeps buying at different price points and they are shifting more stock. Some people don't care or are happy with 12v batteries others wouldn't touch them as they are under powered etc so they are just trying get as many people too at least buy something so they trying at all different prices and sizes.
Ordered one a few days ago and got an email yesterday saying it had been cancelled due to a stock issue?? Now no trace of it on website. Strange....
Yup, my order also cancelled.
Same. Bit annoying cause I had been waiting for them to bring out a circular saw that takes the 20/40v batteries.
would a worx 20v battery fit the reciprocating saw?
Just adding my annoyance here too - 6 days after order & payment I just get an automated “here’s your refund” email.

No explanation or additional info and as others have pointed out products completely pulled from the website/page order links go to ‘404 not found’ etc.

The batteries & charger are now on there way but largely useless if the tools they fit aren’t (I don’t have any other Ferrex kit)

This, coupled with the post on here of discounted 40v batteries now in somestores has me more than miffed and jumping to conclusion that this ‘new’ range has perhaps already been discontinued before it’s hit the shelves

Richy.
The circular saw is now in stock at stores and online. £35 without battery and charger.
