£130 with battery and charger. 40v battery required not 20v cheaper one

This mower was £35 last summer and the batteries were £15. Would recommend wait for the price to drop.
There are 2 batteries in Aldi, 20v at £15 and 40v at £30
The mower has to have the £30 40v battery and you will not find it for £15, it also will not work with any other batteries as i have tried and looked at all alternatives in the past.
Its possible to get the mower cheaper on its own later after a month or two if stores are selling stock off but they never reduce the battery or charger costs as they have a range of tools through the year that use them.

Does it come with one battery or two? And does it include a fast charger?

The batteries are 20v so you would need 2 for it to be 40v mower

So £160 with another battery to make a 40v mower so not so cheap after all!

Title needs changing to 20v battery I think

Looks like charger not included.

Edit. Only one battery needed.

There are 2 types/sizes of battery. A 20V and a 20/40V one. You only need a charger and it will charge them both. Point of the tools is you only need 1 charger and as many batteries as you see fit to have to operate the tools. I have 2 of the bigger batteries 1 charger and 5 tools.

Thanks for the info, all very confusing!!
It's still a complete bargain at £115!
So the question is does anyone own one already and can comment on if it is any good?
Should be £130 with battery and charger.
its £85 mower
£15 charger
£30 battery
You have to get the 40v battery for this unit. Its called a 20/40 battery as you can use the 40v on 20v tools for double the use time.
This is a 40v mower not 20v as some people are saying. you can not use the 20v only battery on this.

I have the previous unit already from last year

Do worx batteries fit , they used to fit aldi tools a couple of years ago

Even more confused now lol
I can't comment on this particular mower, but our Bosch cordless has been a revelation - no messing around the long power cords, not hassle starting a rubbish petrol engine that needs serviced, and super quiet. Highly recommend the technology in general.
It would be nice to get feedback on this. I would love a cordless but this cheap? Cant be much cop can it? Unknown brand
This seems like a better deal (unless you already have other Ferrex kit) :

hotukdeals.com/dea…721
Already have this mower
I think so, it’s heavyish and robust (not like a petrol mower heavy and not light like a Wilko £15 flymo) and the move to of height is easy as I had an Argos one before that you had to remove the wheels for height. I have a lot of Ferrex tools so have a couple of batteries to do front and back garden. Lasts about 30mins and slightly more depending on height of grass and thickness but I can always complete the back garden on one battery as it’s so quick and easy you just glide up and down it pretty fast

This is basically the 2020 version of last years - aldi.co.uk/ferrex-40v-cordless-lawn-mower-skin/p/097702269775900

Ignore the negative comments as these are because people buy it and moan no battery in box. It clearly states on the box no battery included
Edited by: "Wizzwazz" 17th May
The battery’s for these range of tools use Samsung or LG cells , fast charger and I believe these are good robust tools and with also warranty of 2 or 3 years you can’t go wrong. At least if you don’t like it you can take back to store within the month but I believe you will keep. Just get your self a spare battery if you happy with it as they only sell the batteries every 12 months once they sell out in many stores

That ones 18v I believe
Just got a few cordless tools from them
Wizzwazz17/05/2020 16:10

That ones 18v I believe

18v operating, 20v max, they're the same, it's just marketing.
Open the batteries up and you'll find the same 5 lots of 3.6v cells inside, or just put a test meter across them.
I'm confused!! Does this not come with a charger??
Does anyone know if this has a roller for a stripy lawn? I can't see any mention of one...

£130 = mower + battery + charger
£115 = mower + battery
£85 = mower only

In theory gives people choice with different combinations and more choice, but in reality makes things confusing and annoying as some items are oos online, so you can't buy the full package, and can't buy individual items to make up the package either.

If you're after a cordless mower I'd go for the Einhell one in the deal below. It's £100 and you get an extra free battery & fast charger

Looks like Tonka
Cheaper getting the bare mower
aldi.co.uk/ferrex-cordless-lawn-mower/p/800437354029700
and buying The batteries in store.
The 40V/20 active battery that the mower uses is listed at £15 in my local Aldi and there's loads of them.
I bought the Einhell one on the other thread with extra battery and charger for £100 but it's a 30cm cut vs the Ferrex's 37cm cut and not as powerful as this
Also the Ferrex's shortest cut is 25mm vs Einhells 30mm from what I can gather .
Thinking of cancelling the Einhell one which Wickes have rang me to say it's ready to collect and order the Ferrex online for dispatch from 21 May and just buy a couple of the 40v/20 active batteries for it for £15 each. Then I'd only need to find a charger for it and also cancel the Einhell bare strimmer off Amazon
Edit
It was the similarly boxed 20v/40 charger in store not the battery

yeah I've also been comparing the 2 deals/mowers, and apart from the price being a bit more expensive, this Ferrex mower seems to win in every other category compared to the Einhell one, so if someone (like me) who wants a decent first cordless mower to leave a good first impression and 3 years warranty, the Ferrex seems to be the clear choice.

a little comparison:

Ferrex vs Einhell
Price: £130 vs £100 (promotion: extra free battery & charger)
Cut width: 37cm vs 30cm
lowest cut: 25mm vs 30mm
collection box: 40L vs 25L
run time: 30 mins(approx) vs 20 mins(approx)
charge time: 95 mins(approx) vs 2 hours (approx)
weight: 12.4kg vs 9.71 kg
lawn size: up to 250m² vs up to 150 m²
warranty: 3 years vs 2 years

Got my ferrex mower last year £20 from Worksop Aldi , the batteries on the other hand is another story. The scalpers were buying them up for the £30 Aldi charge and popping them on eBay for £120 each no joke. I ended up buying another brand and modifying the mower to accept MAXX branded battery.

These work with a small mod on the mower which I had to do with lack of 40v batteries last summer ( lack of I mean non for sale what so ever )
