Festool TS 55 240v Plunge Cut Circular saw with FS1400 Rail - 561583

The best plunge-cut saw Festool have ever built. With the TS 55 you can saw even more accurately, even more conveniently and above all in combination with the guide rail. With Festool TS55 circular saw not only is your work accurate and particularly time-saving, you also get more out of your circular saw for longer than you do from a conventional saw. Sawing complex light cut-outs or apertures is no problem for circular saws. As long as they are made by Festool, that is.

The electronics and mechanics of the saw are designed for the lowest possible wear. The intelligent electronics and the stable magnesium die-cast construction contribute considerably to the exceptionally long life of the TS 55. The alloyed material and the ribbed construction make the magnesium die-cast plate high-strength and particularly stable.

The TS 55 does not just saw dead-straight, it also saws to the correct depth. Thanks to the accurate depth stop, you can set the depth to which you want to saw right down to the millimetre. This is particularly useful for demanding jobs such as repairing parquet floors. The TS 55 is not just a professional like any other: it is a professional with depth.

Good price. But as I’m not mobile, I went for the TS75 for deeper capacity and more power. The 55 is mainly aimed at sheet cutting. Haven’t looked back, and matched with an mft/3 or similar table, you have an awesome combination for speed, accuracy and repetition. Dust collection when connected, after the odd tweak, is amazing also on both the 55 and 75.
Can’t speak to the value of this but I don’t like FFX practice of putting up prices of items included in sale- poor integrity (like many other sellers)

I cannot agree more. The service from ffx is great, but you really have to keep an eye on them with there sale and eBay discount code pricing. Often the case that the price is lowered a few days after any deal has ended.
Having said that, I have bought a few items from them and not had any problems at all . Just have to check the deal is a deal!
The rails will do your head in, go for the Bosch or Mafell saw and rails, if also on the cheap.
Got the Mafell one last year for about the same price.
Prices fluctuate a lot on plunge saws for some reason.
Seriously tempted.

My last Festool was nicked so I bought the Makita from FFX on a deal. I must admit it's served me well so i'm in two minds whetehr I should go for this or not.
I’m guessing you know that festool replace stolen tools?
How is your makita? I’m torn between this and a makita one

Yes but only for the first 3 years.

Makita's a good tool. Not as good as the Festool but it's not far off considering the difference in prices.

I had a makita router in my basket and by the time I reached checkout it had gained in price by 10%. Weird.
Used them for years and Festo was at least in the past the best you could get in Germany. That said it’s nearly 16 years ago so not sure if the quality is still the same.

Probably the best quality around albeit very expensive.

Thats the thing, perfect for professional but too expensive for occasional needs. Anyway, I love them for their precision.
