like Festool Domino DF500 = £495
For the uneducated out there, these are the Ferrari of saws so at this price it is epic with a battery. Great spot OP.
I'm a dewalt fanboy but this is really good deal.
Festool is the best of the best, no doubt.

The price from FFX before discount is £695 ......How do you get down to £495 ?
This is just the standard circular saw , not the plunge saw .
Only one battery and no charger .
Not a bad deal at all .
Only a good purchase if you already have some 18v kit .
FFX have had some great Festool deals with this code and cash back deal they are running on certain tools .
The deal I posted for the 110v plunge saw and rail for £316 with PARTY code , and then £50 cash back bringing it too £266 is unreal .

Price from FFX £695. Less 20% discount (capped at maximum £100) = £595. Less cashback of £100 from Festool in current promo = £495.

It works on the Festool rail , but it’s not an actual plunge Saw . A plunge saw has a different movement and locks different and is designed for different purpose than this circular saw .
As I said it’s a good deal .

I use this saw everyday, and I do use it to do plunge cuts same as I would do with plunge saw
it's not a plunge saw regardless of how you try to use it
I have this saw and rail system. It more aimed at framers that can do angle cuts without having to constantly coming down to ground level to use the mitre saw. This is a great saw.

Festool is currently offering Cashback on their own website. Just submit the serial number and invoice for £25-£100 Cashback.

It doesn’t plunge !!!!! The guide stops it from plunging . It runs on the Festool rail , that’s it . You set the depth and cut .
This is more for framing , cutting ply ect .
Where the plunge saw is more for expensive work , like pre finished sheets , expensive laminate or Compasite work tops and kitchens which I use my one daily . No one is saying it’s not a good deal ? But it’s not a plunge saw .
I own a Dewalt flex volt cordless skill saw that puts this saw to bed , the battery goes and goes and it’s great for roofing .

It's a standard circle saw that can be used without the track, It's a plunge saw using standard Festool rail and also it's mitre saw using special track rail. All in one. People should know about it because for that money you getting a bargain.
have a look at the video

I would only compare Festool to Mafell.
elisadia19/07/2019 21:58

I would only compare Festool to Mafell.

Why Mafell only make a very small range of tools .
The Dewalt flex volt range is stupendous, very expensive though and is probably more expensive than Festool and Mafell .
And has everything from Mitre saws , to concrete saws , table saws , breakers , and much more .

Right I have to be actually rude !
You are an idiot and that video proves it .
It doesn’t plunge !!!! Do you actually know what a plunge saw is ? It’s a saw that plunges with one touch and moves freely up and down without touching the depth guide . This is a circular saw that runs on a track . Just like the Bosch 18v circular saw version.

Mafell and Festool only concentrate on tools for carpenters, painters and renovators. I told them to design and make tools for other builders and they said they are not interested

It’s quite impressive what Dewalt is doing but as you said it’s expensive and I don’t believe in Dewalt quality anymore. Long time ago Dewalt tools would last until stolen.

Plunge cut is when you cut anywhere on material let’s say a sheet. You don’t need to cut though material , you place saw anywhere and cut

3 year warranty buddy . If you are a tradesman and using that tool everyday and you got over 3 years , it’s paid for itself. That’s facts . But I have lots of Dewalt tools over 3 years old .

Look myself and another guy further up I have told you it’s not a plunge saw .
And REAL carpenters/joiners will also tell you this .
There is know where in it’s description or on the website of Festool that indicates this is a plunge .
Simples .
It’s a circular saw/ track saw .
I won’t comment no more !

As that video shows you have to release buttons to allow it up plunge up and down and back up again once you finish every cut . With a true plunge saw it springs up automatically.
2 different saws . Would never use this saw for finishing work .
