What's it actually for? (Specialist kit or something)

Containers that connect together to transport power tools

They are all Tanos systainers so all compatible with each other and backward compatible between generations, but the Hikoki / Makita boxes are a dated design now with the 4 clasps that were replaced with the much better T Loc years ago (don't know why they still use the clasps unless Festool have paid for exclusive rights). This is the latest version with the rail slots for racking systems and dual front and top handles. (edited)

It's a special box for tools with too much money

Very sturdy, logically organised tool transport system, I saw it in action while I was an IT consultant for some shipyards in Germany and France, of course it's not cheap, Festool is considered as an elite of tools. Great system and great price but buying just this one is rather pointless, ideally you have a van or a workshop organised in a Festool way, not some random container...

Yes, but what if you can only afford the random container?

So, take random container and place your supermaket special £30 drill inside this!

Not sure if compatible with Hitachi/Hikoki containers, I know they used to be. Looking at this box I suspect I could place on top of Hikoki ones but not the other way around;- the lugs on the bottom look like they're the same as my Hikoki containers, I.e. match up with the catches of a hikoki container placed underneath it.

This is probably a better bet, cheaper and more flexible as can be placed anywhere in a stack of containers: tradecounterdirect.com/hit…tml (edited)

I thought it was a printer

There's no internals in this printer nevermind any ink...
