I asked the price of the xbox version i asume other versions will be the same but if somebody can confirm i am going after work (hope there is some left) will let you all know then also dont know how long this offer is on for

I'm standing in tesco right now it's 24.97 in here folks plenty in milton cambridge branch.

Sorry ps3 version I was on about

Loads of copies in my local & they should have stock for alot longer as the initial rush for this game was in tesco & asda.

I can't believe I endured myself to a midnight release, when my local stores still have plenty of stock for £24.99

hope its true so i can use my staff discount and get it for £22.50

Lets hope a simular price war breaks out when COD MW2 is launched.

Midnight release was a joke, hardly a groundbreaking game was it? Will be

they had to turn people away in smithdown road asda at midnight as they didnt have enough stock, 250 for each platform i think they had

Yep, just confirming I bought it from my local Morrison's in York for £24.99 on the XB360 and they had plenty of copies.

Morrisons Doncaster have run out of the 360 "FIFA 10". Well thats what they told me when I went in.

I hope my local has it but I doubt it they don't follow they other stores usually.

I bet GAME and Gamestation will alter their prices too. No sense in not following on for a couple of days

Price will go back up in a day or two. thats what usually happens, and those that said they would wait till it's cheaper end up losing out. Well that's what has happened for the last few years.

They may but the price there charging is 39 quid tbh they may special offer at 34 or sumthing.

over 100 left at morrisons sunderland

Even if the price goes up it will come back down pretty quickly. Got 09 for £22.50 after after NUS discount on HMV.com in early November last year

It certainly seems a strange thing to do for a game that released … It certainly seems a strange thing to do for a game that released annually, I can understand when it happens for new consoles and expansions for games like World of Warcraft but not for something that is essentially just an update of the previously years offering. I guess that they'll point to the fact that people turned up at midnight so it was all worthwhile.edit: Voted hot by the way, I think that EA should go a little further themselves and always include a voucher with each release that gives you discount for the following years release.

I consider myself a gamer but I would never ever lower myself to queue up at midnight for any game, console or otherwise and I dread to think the amount of weirdos that you would be in amongst in a WoW midnight queue given how bad it can be on the RPPvP servers. :-D

Queue? I was on the way back from a friends, just walked into the empty GAME store at 1am and walked out with Halo ODST. No need to queue if you just go slightly later.

£23.47 at Currys...

You think ?!?!? Have you been in a GAME/Gamestation shop in the last 2 years :whistling:
There is no way they will reduce the price ... in fact i wouldnt be surprised if they are selling it for £44.99 (instore that is)

... and they are blaming the current finanicial climate for their current sales troubles. :?

£24.97 at the staines tesco homeplus branch. Just picked one up this morning for hubby!

I bet game & gamestation won't price match, I've tried twice before in the past & they refused to price match any supermarkets as they simply can't compete.

And they were probably in the queues last nightbuying up as many copies as possible and then selling at the £44.99 price instore!!!

As I post this, morrisons in warrington have plenty of stock - I just reserved one over the phone. HEEEEYOT!

They removed the price match years ago, along with the 10 day money back (fair enough - it was heavily abused) and thats really when it started going downhill for them. When they dropped it, i tried on a few occasions to price match for the sake of less than a fiver in all cases and they would just refuse point blank and give me a dirty look. I would normally get them to price match Argos so that i didnt have to queue, but when they wouldnt price match £1 i reluctantly went to Argos (was i really worth the lost sale, GAME?) ... That said i have bought a few items from them online.

Whenever i pass a GAME its usually dead inside - even round xmas time ... a far cry from 3+ years ago. But you would at least think the stores would sell games at a reasonable price (say £34.99) rather than the full £39.99/£44.99 to try and compete. Especially since there is nothing like the amount of supermarket offers this year, compared to 2008.

I phoned for a price on Katamari Forever a few weeks ago from various shops, cause although it is £20-£25 online in a few places i didnt want to wait over the weekend. GAME quoted £44.99 (even at blockbusters it was £35) !!!

Voted Hot and Repped

supermod

I bought the Xbox360 versions earlier this morning, apparently they only reduced their prices at the last minute. £24.99, can't complain ;-)

... Nuff said LOL  ... and there i was thinking that saying GAME et al would be £49.99 was maybe a little too pessimistic. :whistling:

... Why do some companies think that the best way to get through the financial crisis is to shove the prices up bigtime???

My local will price match against any retailer in there road (blockbuster, hmv, argos & game) but refuse when it comes to supermarkets which i can understand to be honest as supermarkets make deals with EA to get the games at a lower price to do this which game/gamstation simply don't have to buying power to do.

But i still love gamestation for their trade in policy as they price match cex :-D

Pricematched me this morning in Gamestation.

They have it on the shelves for £39.99, asked if they would pricematch Tesco, quick phone call. Yes we will.

Cheers

Tried asking about price matching in Gamestation yesterday, they said they'd only match prices of other shops in town... so not the supermarkets! Mind you, better than Game - was told there they didn't price match as it would sell regardless.

I think it's more to do with the fact that it's not good business sense for them to offer the game for that price. The supermarkets offer deals like this in the hope that the customers also do their weekly shop while in the store, if you went to Game to buy this then there's a good chance that is all you'll buy. You may still get a price match in some places but it's usually at the discretion of the store manager.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that some supermarkets were selling the new Dan Brown book for less than they were buying them for. This is exactly the reason why some smaller companies have gone out of business, how can anyone compete with a someone who buys in bulk to get a huge discounts and still sells the items on for cheaper than they paid for it.

It's obviously still great for us consumers but the supermarkets are still making a fortune so the costs are hidden elsewhere.
