I blame Apple! EA must be thinking, if these idiots will pay £1000+ for a phone surely they'll be happy to pay £50 for a yearly football game

It's the first week of release. It'll start to drop soon once all of the kids have their fix.

How much is pes?
£34-40, I was hoping for supermarket deals, but they are all selling at £50
Think this will be the norm for a lot of games from now on. Look at battlefront 2..... That's a fifty pound game.
I'd happily pay that for a complete game, but with dlc already finished and microtransactions..... Just more ways of draining money from you.
Don't even get me started about street fighter 5 and shadow of mordor!
Personally going to wait till it’s on EA access.
Gonna hold off until either Black Friday or Christmas where it’ll be sub 35
Got it with my ps4 and seriously its not even much different to last year. I’ll be trading mine in next week

£30 it was last year on Black Friday. Lots of places were doing it. But it's 2 months away. Depends how much people want to play it now I guess. If you're into online, FIFA is one of these games you want to as soon as possible. It's almost like a 1 year countdown to being worthless from day of release. 2 year countdown until you can't play online at all. Fine though if you just want to play with yourself. But in that case, the best time to buy would be when a new FIFA comes out and the last one can be had for around £5. Personally, I buy early and sell around March/April. I get a lot of value for around £15 in that time period. Leave it any longer and you'll get hardly anything back.

This is all because of idiots saying "oh look how cheap gaming has gotten" blah blah blah. Obviously ignoring the fact these companies stuff games with dlc, season passes and microtransactions the true price of a game hasn't been cheap for a long time. I have so many games to play that paying full price for games is laughable.

Very true. Just wait and get a bargain.
I'm currently playing both games and I have to say gameplay wise pes kills fifa it really does. But the fact u can buy players on fifa makes it really enjoyable both have pros and cons. If I had to choose one it would be pes 100%. Not saying fifa is bad though it's still good though.

The Morrison's website says £42 when you spend £40 (I'm guessing that excludes the game (lol))
