Not bad for very basic needs, but Cx file explorer is much better, no ads, and free too. No problem multi select, accessing NAS, and network storage either

It's in the settings
Thanks. I checked there and it still only showed internal storage unfortunately.
I had es before it was pulled, and I could click on LAN and find my Nas without any additional setup, does anyone know of another that has this feature because all the ones that require the smb to be setup never seem to work on my Chromebook...

Open the app and tap where it says internal and it gives you the option to switch to sd. Good app.
None of these file managers have multi select like the Samsung in built file browser does. What I mean by that is you select one file, hold down and drag down to select more than 1 file. Useful for WhatsApp folder, deleting all photos except say the last month. All of them are non touch friendly tap tap tap everything you want selecting. Solid explorer used to have it but was then removed.

this has an excellent feature "PC File Transfer" which makes for easy copying to a PC via a web interface.

One review suggests it does it without encryption so be careful.
Quite a few critical reviews of this app actually.

I'm still using version 3.2.4.1 of ES File Explorer (before it became an AdFest). Yet to find another I prefer.
Total Commander is the best file app ever (for android anway) - I have tried them all, and best thing of all its always been free and ad free! Amazing interface and can do many other technical things other than just file manager.

Is that the version where you can slide your finger to select files instead of tapping? Possibly the best feature it ever had

No. Sliding takes you to another window.
kobirulali17/08/2019 08:17

It doesn't do it anymore

Sure it does. Just tap on the file/folder icon.
I've uploaded this just now:

Am I doing something wrong as I used to be able to drag down and select more than 1

This one doesn't appear to be ad supported either? Other than that, can you explain the reasons why you think Cx is better? You seem to have good knowledge about both apps.

All is subjective, just try both yourself. What works for you. I just found I wasn't able to access my Nas with the giveaway one, the last time I tried it. If that's changed, fair enough.
