Why is it suddenly free?

Err, probably because most developers frequently discount or make their apps/games available for free for limited periods (it's called "marketing" in the business world )

I've personally got well over 100 "paid" apps in my Google Play library, and I've probably only paid for a handful of them (using Google Rewards credits, lol). Case in point: I own full versions for virtually every Mosalingua language course, yet I haven't paid for a single one (or actually used one for that matter)

Not sure why you are prejudiced against an app just because the developers are from Vietnam? Some of the very best coders come from developing countries, and it's sad to see them discriminated against purely because of where they live or their ethnicity.

I press Download, then immediately press the X to cancel before it does, it's still registered to your account by that point...
Oh, me again...

I used to have a file manager which I could connect to my PC via a web address (192.etc) and that I could both upload and download stuff via a web page but I can't find it anymore, I can only find ones I can download from phone to PC but not PC to phone.. can anyone point me towards one? I lost it when I reset the phone and cant find it in past apps...

Good tip, I use FilePursuit Pro to get a lot of APKs.

I use X-Plore, you can copy to/from PC (via network share) and even PC to PC via phone. It's very slick.

I do that with loads of things - i did the same when I had an iPhone as well. I apparently did that with this app as well as it's showing up as "Installed" on my play library.

Nowhere near as good as ES File Explorer..

try this one made by ASUS if Vietnam bothers you
play.google.com/sto…ger

I wouldn't usually discriminate regarding country of app origin, but in this instance you have a point. Why is it suddenly free?

I use apk extractor for apps like Uber, that I only use once in a while but don't want to keep downloading it

Went to download it but turns out I already had it

Everything loads fast in this app. Folders show contents rapidly and the built in photo viewer seems faster than anything else I've used. Way better than es file explorer so far.
Thanks op

For simple stuff I use a WhatsApp personal paste bin i.e. I create a new group chat but only with me in it. Sharing files from your phone to a WA chat is super easy and it's just as easy to donwload them from WA web in a browser, or vice versa. By simple stuff I mean pics, PDFs, links, or just type notes to myself for when I get back onto my PC.
I still file things by hand.

I wonder how many of us have this in our Android libraries and got it for free?

I can't seem to find any way of accessing home network (NAS) as it only allows local storage.
