Square Enix have launched the FInal Fantasy Portal app and as part of it's launch you can download Final Fantasy 1 for free.

To get the free download get the portal app first on:

iOS - itunes.apple.com/gb/…t=8

Android - play.google.com/sto…=en

Go to APPS or App List when you launch the portal app and Final Fantasy 1 will be free to download.

U still get charged for it after the promo ends

Thanx but the quality of the game is rly bad, pretty sure the play store version is a lot better, bad controls and resolution,

If you click through it's free to download until 8/31/2015 (PDT). Pacific Daylight time is 7 hours behind us apparently to be safe I would get it before the 30th August (_;)

This means if you download it now it's FREE. If you wait until the promo expires 31st Aug and download it after that date you have to pay for it.

Also if you delete your free copy and want to download it again after that date you have to pay.

The free copy you download during the promo though you can keep for as long as you have the app installed.

That's my understanding of the terms of the promo. Worth getting, after all its free.

free is free. and free is good!!
thank you

Thank you!

Cheers OP, enjoyed the original FF on the GBA. Yes its primitive but for a portable JRPG its a lot of fun

it amazes me how demanding square Enix is. making their ff games fully DRM apps until I can't play if not connected to the Internet, now they create portal app which demands all type of access to your phone and you have to be connected to Internet to play it again. for this game with all those massive hassle? no thanks SE. no offence to you op, just hate SE on being over protective

thanks, the portal app is a bit rubbish but once you're in the game it works well. couldn't get the card game to download, used to love playing that in ff8-9 hope they bring something similar back for ff15

I thought this would be great for taking on holiday but it seems that I need to be online in order to run the portal. :-(
Unless anyone had a workaround for this?
