The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet's very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra's elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him.

A spectacular reimagining of one of the most visionary games ever, the first game in this project will be set in the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience.

Cold?! Hot.

People will be wanting the price to start with a 3 at this point
Picked this up not long after release for £42 brand new on Ebay 'buy it now'. I'd honestly look that way for a better deal if you can't wait.
I'm gonna wait for the inevitable "Part 1 & 2" pack and hopefully with some PS5 enhancements.

Yea.... That's likely to be 2028 or later seeing as the developers have said they are only just at the early "discussion" stages of the follow up... They have no idea what they're doing, basically.

I don't were you heard that all the news I have heard is that there already busy and have been for months and it all depends on how large they make the next part, square enix and director want it to released asap and I think square enix is going to make sure it release soon even if it's a smaller section of the over narritive. Just to keep the hype and such alive. I suspect we will have the next release in like 1.5 years max, and they will prob cut the whole game into 5 parts.
I have a feeling this game was made more for people who have not played ff7 than people who have. That is the only thing I am going to say about it.

Nah, the complete opposite. How anyone new to the story would be expected to understand any of it is beyond me. It is written like a bad fanfic reboot.

I would disagree, as during the whole gameplay I was just waiting for things to happen that I know would happen from playing the original, all the extra stuff they put in there was absolutely boring and does not add anything to the story only near the end does some interesting thing happening. Here my though pattern is that if you didn't know what was coming you would not mind the extra stuff they put in there as you didn't know better, but if you played the original it just feels like a drag an only the begin and end add to the nostalgia the rest is really bad filler.

Btw I always felt the real story only started after this game, this whole part of the original game was to introduce the premise nothing more.

I feel like they unintentionally spent too long on Midgar, but it worked out well. Some of the quests were meh, but I couldn't stop playing it which is a good sign.

Without going into details as that would be spoiling the game, there are a number of characters introduced with no explanation as to who they are, we are just expected to know their significance. That is what I meant by it being unintelligible for newcomers.

True I get your point :), though the original was much like this as well up to this point in the game. You didn't really get to learn much about the character until you actually started traveling the world.

For a new comer a game without important character depth is pretty bland. It's because I know the characters I didn't mind that.

Yeah I couldn't stop playing either but did skip the side quest in the end as the previous ones were like you said mehh. Though I couldn't stop playing because first I really enjoyed it and then I wanted to get to the end to see where the game gets to. I enjoyed the first 15 hours and the last 5 hours of the game, the rest felt very streched.

One thing I couldn't get over was the amount of crawling under, between or over things. It was so painfully slow.
