In my case they are mostly in their boxes in the spare room as I don't have room to display them all at the moment.

I'd also love this but this is a bit too much even for me and I already own this:

That's it, it's the size! I assume most have things boxed away. My one item like this is my 3d Guybrush, a childhood obsession.

Look at everyone crying, grown adults- crying. Pathetic.

From Square Enix store website.
Was interested until I found out it's the deluxe version and a separate figure...like kingdom hearts 3, I want a set not this
I used to thing Cloud's sword was so cool as a young teen, but now it just looks ridiculous and hilarious, especially with that skinny little handle.

How do I get one?!
knowing stuff like this in the past i could still see this edition selling out at this price :/

you used to be able to get a full blown 17 inch statue from square enix for the same price as the cloud figure is selling for now (£180) - prices have definitely gone up loads on se merch. over time

37835244-WqPgc.jpg
(for context the aerith sculpture arts statue shown in the photo used to retail for about £180, the indidual figures used to be like £18 each - similarly sized figures from ff are now like £70-£120 )
In the past, adults used to grow out of childish things, now childhood (toy collecting) potentially goes on forever - might explain the pricing scheme.
It's a shame it's only one per account

If you have the aerith sculpture, pretty sure it's way more than £180 now (I'm a play arts/PAK fanatic)

@SVRich would love to see your collection, you on any of the PA/PAK groups on Facebook?

I think the AC fenrir looks much cooler than daytona. But I guess you're getting the cloud and daytona, and deluxe edition of game, for cheaper than the cloud and fenrir!

Omg, they're actually charging extra for shipping too. That really gets my goat lol. £5.29 for the shipping ontop of the £269.99! The XV UCEs were £190 and you got free shipping I think.

I also have a feeling, that the figure will probably ship later than the game, so you should pick the first option, if you want to get the copy of the game for release. And no option to pay with PayPal, that sort of sucks. I'm planning to changing bank before this ships, so my card details won't be relevant at release.

Didn't they announce its not going to be episodic anymore? I haven't caught up with e3 yet but that's what everyone was expecting to happen.

it sold for about £180 when it was released was the point i was making - yeah it sells for like a £1000 now

i bought it for £130 back in the day and sold for £240 a few years later (though it was damaged by then as the shelf in the photo collapsed - otherwise i'd have kept hold of it )

i used to collect play arts - still have a few, but sold a lot of them - the photo up above is 7 years old now

but when i was collecting them they were far more affordable than they are now and the price difference, doesn't match up to the quality difference

MFC collection photos

at one point i think i had all of the play arts released to that point (they are in some of the older photos when my collection was pretty cluttered) - i just have the one (very dusty) main figure cabinet nowadays as it wasn't practical to have too much stuff on display

I agree dude. I collect play arts and then PAK too, very keen but not as professionally collecting as you. I agree the PAKs are expensive and not any huge jump in quality from the original play arts. I had to send a Fran PAK back cos the paint job was so bad.

From the fact they've announced a release date for "FF7 remake" - they've not said its a release date for episode 1 of the FF7 remake, anywhere I've seen over the last few days. That's why there's speculation it's no longer episodic.

Square Enix store says:

The fact it is the 'first game in this project' gives you the impression that there will be secondary games in the project...
They did mention in the conference that there’s going to be 2 blurays in the box. The way they spoke about it definitely seemed a full thing on launch, to me anyway.

Interesting, but I'd still think they'd put episode 1 or something in the title if the plan was still episodes. I think it's likely that this is the base main game, and we get the other "episodes" as later DLC, like with XV
This is an opinion as someone coming fresh to the FF7 game play experience, I didn't play the original, but love AC and have been to distant worlds etc so I know there is story outside of Midgar

I'm more of a video games collector rather than Play Arts to be do I don't have many of those. I just have a lot of collectors editions. I do have a full set of Fallout Bobbleheads mind.

Still episodic:

eurogamer.net/art…ing

"Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy 7 remake comes on two Blu-ray discs, and reiterated its episodic nature. The first episode focuses on Midgar, the company said"

They haven't confirmed how many parts there will be yet, but if you know your FFVII and this stays pretty close to the story beats of the original, it would suggest 3 to 4 parts in total to me, but I guess we will have to wait to find out for sure.

Questions i still have are:

* are we buying the full game and it is just being unlocked in parts (like Hitman season 1)
* are the assets for the full game on the disk or will future parts have their own disks
* will other parts have physical releases also
* what will the cadence of subsequent part releases be

This just sounds like a luxery bundle to me

Haven't seen anything about limited numbers like with XV. The XVs sold out very quickly (like 6 or 8 hours with some rleeaed from cancellations in months afterwards), and doesn't seem such a rush on this in comparison, probably partly because it's just the deluxe edition and the figure seperatly. With the XV UCE, the figure was inside the box with the game.

I'm assuming you think this would be too risky? I generally only like to buy CE type stuff if they at least hold their value. The deluxe edition will definitely drop in price so you're looking at over £200 for the statue alone.
Or better still.... go on aliexpress and find the figure you want, buy the game and save about £200
