Trailer:

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is going to be big, not just in popularity, but in the game's actual size.

During E3 2019 of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake, producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that the physical edition of the first episode in the remake will require two blu-ray discs when it hits its release date of March 3, 2020.
That's largely due to the sheer size of the game. Kitase confirmed that every game, or episode, in this series will be comparable to a full Final Fantasy game. Which means we can likely expect the following installments of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to also require two blu-ray discs on current-gen hardware.

Considering the first game focuses on Midgar, that means that just the first section of the original Final Fantasy 7 is going to require two discs in the remake – which is insane if you remember the original.

Before folks start voting cold due to being episodic, remember each game …Before folks start voting cold due to being episodic, remember each game will be the size of a full Final Fantasy game. The scope of this game is extremely huge, will be minimum 40-60 hours hence the 2 discs.

I’m voting cold because it’s over 40 quid.
TonySquared30/12/2019 13:02

So no link then? Just checking....

Again, not everything cheapest is hot, otherwise this just becomes a price listing site and may as well remove the heat feature. I agree with the commentator that a PS4 game over £40 is not a hot deal.

Cheaper link?
Glad I Pre-ordered this from Base when it was £39.99
Robinsad30/12/2019 12:52

Cheapest doesn’t mean it’s hot.

I'll wait for the review. I am playing through the original again on my RG350 but this looks a bit too arcadey from the vids.

Voted hot anyway

That’s nice. So you wouldn’t have bought the Nier black box edition for £180? It’s now worth over £300....

This goes both ways, you can’t automatically vote cold just because it’s a ps4 game over £40. Well you can, just like I can do this....

IS THERE A CHEAPER LINK!?

Happy new year
Reminder that if you've bought the special uber edition from Square Enix directly, they'll start debiting people's accounts in the first few weeks of the new year

What a bizarre example to back up your opinion.

I agree with you. It is an AAA game and a lot of them are being released at £40+, it is nothing new. Seems the other person never have purchased anything like that or any Nintendo games before. Voted hot OP, I also have this on preorder since 2 years ago for £39.85 from them
Cheaper than an over-priced "AAA" Nintendo game.

At least this game will be worth the money, unlike rip-off Nintendo's.

HEAT!

? Why, I feel that’s a perfect example.... way over £40 but we worth that and more. Not just opinion but fact as people are buying them. Was an unsung game (now that’s opinion)

One of the discs will just be to install the game though, just like Red Dead 2 was.

Sour grapes at having to pay rip-off prices much?

That doesn't make it hot, to be completely honest i'm not looking forward to spending 40-60hrs in just one location just one tiny portion of Gaia, in fact spending that much time just in the city of Midgar is genuinely putting me off the game

Just my opinion though

I have the game on pre-order too. But am thinking of cancelling. If only because it is going to get a re-release on PS5. And because there are a million other things I could be spending my money on.
Don't think this comes with the pre order DLC just so folk know. I assumed all retailers would do the basic pre order bonus though?
Maybe they all don't or is it a case of wrong information?

Reply from Base:

"Hi,

I am sorry but we are not offering a pre-order bonus with this item. We charge for items when we are ready to dispatch them. We aim to deliver items on or very close to the release date. It will be dependent on when we receive our pre-order stock. If we receive it early we will be able to dispatch it to arrive the day prior to release, however, if our stock does not arrive until the day prior to release we would not be able to dispatch it to arrive until the day after the release date.

Kind regards,
Vicky
