War was on the horizon. Seeking to strengthen its base of power, the great Archadian Empire had been invading and subjugating its neighboring kingdoms one by one. The small Kingdom of Dalmasca, the stage on which this tale is set, was one such kingdom.

When the occupying Archadian forces established a new consul in Dalmasca's Royal City of Rabanastre, it caught the attention of Vaan, an urchin living on the streets. To Vaan, the Empire was a hated enemy who had taken the life of his brother-his last surviving family member. Vaan hatched a plan to sneak into the castle housing the new consul and pay him a surprise visit of sorts. Once inside, he thought to unburden the consul of one or two of his treasures. But before he would have the chance, Vaan got far more than he bargained for; a resistance movement of former Dalmascan soldiers rising up against the Archadian Empire was launching an assault!

I personally paid £30 CASH for this game just 1 month ago. I'm so gutted i didn't wait. This is an absolute bargain.

I think this is a great deal, BUT being a massive Final Fantasy fan the game was a HUGE let down, it is so far detracted from the original FF battle format, that it may as well be called something different.
I to paid a hefty full price for this as in$anity did (maybe a little bit more on release day) but have only played it for maybe 10-15 hours, after that it went onto the shelf and I carried on with FF7 again

Voted hot for the deal though, good find, many people will be happy to get it for so cheap.

Mike..

a very good price - a lot of game play to complete everything

i too paid full price.

I'm much happier with £14 i paid for ff3

Good game though (stopped playing when i got my 360 though lol) excellent price

totally agree. i'm a huge huge FF fanboy ( i admit it ) but FF12's battle system is so different... not in a good way either.. I've got Crisis Core for the PSP (Imported Japanese limited FF7 PSP) and the battle system is the same Also, FF13 is said to have the same battle system. I love turn-based battles, real-time is horrible, which is why i never liked Zelda games.

Either way, £10 is a huge saving so go for it if you're interested

thats well cheap

went to platinum bloody fast!

Cheers (Heat and rep added)

This is an ace deal !.

Did'nt this game only come out a few months ago ?.
Gonna buy this tomorrow.
cheers...heat added !!!

I paid full price for this not long ago, never getting around to playing it. Excellent price.

Ordered this last week, still waiting for it to be delivered...

:x

I'm going to be using one of these walkthroughs because I don't enjoy missing out on stuff (Zodiac Spear comes to mind):

I've been a fan of A l e x's before due to his work on Dragon Quest VIII. But this time around, it looks as if SOng/Split Infinity is the winner, I've just gone with the size of the KB.

lol i am the same, except i only got about 5 hours into it and lost interest. and i just started playing FF7 again 2 days ago :giggle:

I think the series has been gradually going downhill since it reached its peak with 7. 8 and 9 were a bit of a let down and i gave up on 10 about 15 hours into it cos i just didn't care what was happening.

I wish I hadn't given away my original (non-platinum) version of FFVII to a friend back when I bought the platinum version. My original FFVII discs were very scratched, but it would've been nice to still have the original version around. :-(

Anyway, FFX was the point where the FF series went downhill. After that, we had a long wait for a true FF sequel, and FFXII has let down lots of people.

Good price. Not sure whether this version of the game is backwards compatible with the PS3 anyone know? Coz i know different disc SLES numbers can have issues with the PS3.

I loved this game, had it on the PS2 before i sold it. Think i had about 50 hours gameplay...wasnt that far either, i just liked to go back through areas time and time again to improve stats and defeat harder opponents more easily.

Much different from FFVII with the new real time battle system and gambits which may take some hardcore FF7 lovers some time to get used to (like me). However, is a fun game as all FF games are.

worst FF ever, i played 2 hours then put it away. What a waste of 35 quid

my friend said this was the best one since number 7, much better then X and that every ps2 owner should buy it....which i have done just now

I dont mind the battle system that much. Its like the online Final Fantasy which i used to play so i was used to it. Gonna buy this a bit later, only borrowed a friends. Im pretty sure i wont play it but for £10 you cant go wrong lol

Insanity, couple of questions, will be most grateful if you or someone else could answer them. I have my game save of FFXII saved on my comp (backed up before i sold my PS2), would i be able to get that to work on my PS3 and if so, how?

Also just purchased my PS3 last week (Blockbuster deal) will i need to install anything to get PS2 titles working?

sorry for the late reply. You may Possibly be able to carry over that save. What you'd have to do is:

put the save on a usb pen and then plug the usb pen into the PS3. There should be an option for you to copy the save onto the PS3 hard drive. Then you will be able to continue from where-ever you got to in the game.

i cant guarantee it, but its worth a shot! I dont understand how you managed to get a PS2 save backed up on your PC, but anyway...

hope that explains it some
