Is this 10 a month sub ?

It doesn't mention any game time in the description. Not even a 30 days trial is mentioned

It says on the box art there is a 30 day sub included. I've also checked listings at other websites for the same product, like the Square Enix store and they do say it has a month sub included.

Also the PC version is available at GAME for the same price so you may want to add the post.

This game is pretty average, archaic systems and really not worth the fee when there are much better MMO games out there. Wait for Black desert

For anybody with a PS3 and PS4. You can upgrade from the PS3 version (£2.39 eBay) until December 31st, although the end date on this promotion has continuously been extended since around 2015/16.

From Monday, October 17, 2016 to Sunday, December 31, 2017

  • Purchase of the PlayStation®4 version is not required to upgrade. Please be aware that after transferring to the PlayStation®4 you will be unable to play using your current copy of the PlayStation®3 version.
  • Please note that after completion, the upgrade process cannot be undone.
  • Upon completing the upgrade process, a PlayStation®4 system will be required to play FINAL FANTASY XIV.
  • All FINAL FANTASY XIV service account data including characters and in-game items will be carried over upon upgrading to the PlayStation®4 version.
  • Users who wish to play on both the PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 until service for the PlayStation®3 is discontinued must purchase a separate copy of FINAL FANTASY XIV for the PlayStation®4.
  • The upgrade campaign is scheduled to begin on October 17, 2016 and end on December 31, 2017.
  • Users who purchased the PlayStation®3 Collector's Edition will be upgraded to the PlayStation®4 Collector's Edition automatically.
  • Users who registered FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward to their service account are not required to register a second copy when upgrading to the PlayStation®4 version.
  • The fourteen days of free play granted by this campaign are only valid in the event your service account is expired at the time of upgrade. Please be advised that this promotion cannot be used to extend the duration of free play periods granted by other campaigns.

The only negative based on this deal, which would be a simpler process would be the 14 days compared to the 30 days with this...

"Moreover, players whose subscription has expired will also be granted fourteen days of free play starting from the day they upgrade to the PlayStation®4 version."

In fact ignore that last part. You get a 30 day trial with the PlayStation 3 version.

I'd believe so mate, I'd imagine that you have to create the account via the PS3 console and then upgrade from there.

Have a read about mate. I've just had a quick look and it seems the PS3 version may come with a code. I'm wondering if you can create the account on their webpage with the code on the manual.

The way it works is a bit weird, you have to redeem the code on PSN (so you could do it through a PC) and then you can manage your account for FF14 on Moogle Station, a website dedicated for the service. In theory you should be able to redeem the code and make an account without having a PS3.

Can't remember the whole process when I did this. But I believe you had to have a PS3. I had to install it on PS3 make an account once the account was up and running and the game registered to my account (you get an activation code in the box). I was then able to claim the PS4 version and move my account over to that.

A PS3 is required to upgrade. It's quite a lot of hassle as you need to install the game on the PS3 and if I recall you need to log in on the PS3 version at least once. I had download so many patches oO .

Which MMOs?

are the servers cross platform? can I play with people who have it for the pc?

Yes, servers are cross platform

Actually the servers being cross platform is the main issue they are facing bringing the game to other platforms (switch, xbox) because they don't want to divide players at all

Yeah it's quite a long process to get the PS3 version installed a patched, depends how much spare time you have and how much you value it.

You cannot upgrade the PS3 version anymore.
I've tried it a couple of weeks ago.was told by the games customer support the PS3 game is no longer supported.

The PS3 game is just a coaster at this point, don't waste your money.

Cannot do this anymore. PS3 version is not supported anymore. You simply cannot register the PS3 version, via console, webpage or PSN at all.
I've tried a brand new copy of the game two weeks ago, didn't work and was informed the game isn't supported on older platforms anymore.
The PS3 disc is completely useless now.
