Otherwise known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, this new addition to the Final Fantasy series combines action and story into one awesome PlayStation 4 game.

The story focuses on Noctis Lucis Caelum, the prince of a dynasty which rules a city state that has the last remaining crystal. After the crystal is stolen by an invading nation, a global conflict ensues with all other nations wishing to gain it for themselves. Against this backdrop of a world at war, Noctis Lucis Caelum and his closest friends embark on an epic journey to try and get the crystal back.

Bit awkward that they are still selling Day One copies well over a year after release! Somebody at Base ordered too many...
Might get it. Is driving your car as bad as everyone claims it to be.

Not just Base. I picked up a Day One Edition off Amazon at Christmas
Amazon is selling it for 12 pounds so this deal is better.
An awful game with completly broken story, was released way before it should have been. Hard to witness how bad the games have gotten since VII and VIII.

I disagree. IX was absolutely amazing, one of the best Final Fantasies if not the best. X was linear but had an amazing story and great character progression story line. XII was not everybody cup if tea because it was so different.. I still really liked it.. there was so much to do in that game ! Story was a bit ****** tho. 13 and 15 yeah... not my favourites.

Just picked this game up for the Xbox one in Asda. £15 on the shelf but scanned at £7.50.
Would wait on this - I bought this on release and while a decent game, it has its fair share of problems. Namely, the rubbish car mechanics, the boring side quests and the terrible chapter 13. Some areas do not seem to be all particularly explorable even though they appear quite large on the map (will avoid naming for spoilers).

Having said that, SE have announced the Royal Edition version which has all the DLC episodes and improvements to the game - free roaming car, boat and the ability to explore some of the aforementioned areas more freely - it's not clear if these additions and others are exclusive to the Royal Edition. I would wait and see how that edition is before jumping and buying this one, as this base day one edition is only going to go down in price.
Loved this game up until chapter 9. The open world was amazing, the story was great, missions excellent.

At that point everything went downhill. Linear story that didn't make any sense.
With the Royal Edition out soon it maybe preferable to wait for that to see how much it will cost.
I didn't really like this or get into it, the story is broken up and rubbish
Final fantasy 7,8, and 9 were the last best final fantasy games, 10 was alright but the add ons of 10 and every ff game after that lost its magic in my opinion, I am waiting on the final fantasy 7 remake which I hope is brilliant (fingers crossed)

Day 1 owners can purchase the "Royal content" separately, as well as the first season pass content. I;d highly recommend people waiting for the Royal edition.
Lot of hate and FF snobbery for this game but as a noob to the series (and not a fan of turn based combat, you can turn it off in this) I personally enjoyed it. Didn't have a problem with chapter 13 (think this had been patched) and as for car mechanics well once you've completed the story you get to fly and an update (one of many) also allows you to go off road. Lots to do and see in a well realised land, and a fairly easy platinum too. No brainer at this price.

UPDATE - price gone up to £21.85
