The Story of Final Fantasy XV
Enroute to wed his fiancée Luna on a roadtrip with his best friends, Prince Noctis is advised by news reports that his homeland has been invaded and taken over under the false pretence of a peace treaty – and that he, his loved one and his father King Regis, have been slain at the hands of the enemy.

To gather the strength needed to uncover the truth and reclaim his homeland, Noctis and his loyal companions must overcome a series of challenges in a spectacular open world - that is filled with larger-than-life creatures, amazing wonders, diverse cultures and treacherous foes.

The Characters of Final Fantasy XV

Noctis: Heir apparent to the Lucian throne, Noctis's trials begin when he sets forth from the crown city in order to wed the Lady Lunafreya Nox Fleuret. In combat, he wields spectral weapons which he forges from thin air, a power possessed by those of his royal line.

Gladiolus: The Amicitia family has long served as the shield protecting the kings of Lucis and their household, and Gladiolus is its eldest son. The bond he shares with Noctis transcends that of a bodyguard and his liege. With his prodigious strength, he stands ever ready to keep his companions from harm.

Ignis: Ignis was raised alongside Prince Noctis to be adviser to the heir apparent. An intensive education instilled in him the resourcefulness and composure required for the role, his tactical acumen proving invaluable over the course of the prince's journey.

Prompto: Fast friends with Noctis since they met as teenagers, Prompto is a young man of common birth who finds himself out of his depth when tragedy befalls Lucis. Nevertheless, he strives to carry more than his own weight, lightening his companions' burdens as well as their spirits.

Luna: Luna made many fond memories with Noct in their childhood, but their days of innocence ended abruptly when the empire overtook her home of Tenebrae. Through adversity, she became the youngest Oracle in history. Adored and respected the world over, she now travels in search of communion with the gods to aid Noct on his journey.

Regis: The reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Lucis, Regis raised his son, Prince Noctis, on his own. For long years, he has sustained the Wall, a magical barrier that encases the Crown City, protecting it from invasion. However, tragedy would befall him at the treaty signing with Niflheim, during which he was reportedly slain.

The Royal Edition isn’t the complete story so depends what you’re after. Just over £5 is cheap for this game though

completely forgot about that Not been on much today cheers mate
Jeez they can't give this away. Day one edition lol
I have no idea why I'm not pulling trigger on this already. Asking if it's worth this price is kinda silly isn't it. Hmm
Ordered cheers for sharing bloody good price for a great game
Awesome game
Purchased. Heat. Cheers
Cor that’s hot
But is it worth your time playing?
Ive got the day one edition...any cheap deals on the DLCs???
I always chip in as I did enjoy this game and would definitely recommend it for pocket change. That being said, it has its issues, some of which (but not all) are fixed by the royal edition. If you want to get maximum enjoyment out of it and are not fussed about getting this cheap as pos, get that version.
Never played a FF game in my life but always been intrigued due to the mega fandom. Is this a good place to start?

No. It mostly kicked off from ff7 which you can get on most consoles as a download. FF7 is my favourite game of all time. The graphics are complete pants now but the storyline is really good. They’re in the process of remaking it now. I still enjoy playing FF7. It was a game changer in its day in terms of size and the graphics.

Definitely worth playing, great game!
So the royal pack is £5.99 on the ps store. If i bought this deal and that pack would i have everything the royal edition has
Got this on a price glitch on PSN a couple of years back posted on here I think, sadly just can't get into FF series. Maybe it's the hair or teenage angst or something but just not my thing. Perhaps if I'd got into it back in the ps1 days, saddens me as a gamer that I just don't get the fuss.

Maybe the VIII release will tempt you, lots of teenage angst still but a decent story. Plus, gunblades.

Yes on sale now on PS Store

You are a gem, actually havent seen the DLC on sale before. I may have to new game+ now to get me back into the swing of things ;-)
Forget XV, remaster VIII alre...
Oh, wait!
So am I right in saying that to experience everything this game has to offer, you have to buy this and as well both the royal edition upgrade which is currently £5.99 on the PS Store AND the Season Pass which is also currently £5.99?

Yes. If you want all content and not just the base game you could just get the full Royal Edition on PSN which is currently on sale for £19.99. You'd only save about £2 in total getting the base game on disc and it's a bit more hassle.

Bring back complete games at launch I say!

I want FFIX
Cheers OP.
I remember buying this for a tenner with tesco vouchers. Its still sat unopened a year or so on!
Then again I bought XII platinum edition on ps3 and that's still unplayed. I've just never felt I have the time to sink into them but its FF so you buy!

Same with Zelda, never play them but always buy with intention to.

I agree with you, ff7 is the biggest game and ff9. But you forgot to mention that this one has a different battle system, more like Kingdom hearts type of battle. I never liked ff games, but I got this one. And yes, I loved the game until chapter 7,from there it was a boring mess... and even though I bought the royal edition, I couldn't be arsed with the dlcs. But definitely worth a fiver.

I stopped buying them after 12. They got too linear. Needs to be about exploring a world of some sort. FF7 was amazing for that.

In ffxv you can explore it's open world. That was another reason why I got it. But after you finish chapter 6...it's just meh. The ff7 remake, open world or not, I'll get it. They said that the old ff7 remade is just a part of the proper game, they'll loads of more stuff to it.

Yeah. That’s one of the bits I’m looking forward to. The first episode is just midgar and even that is still two disc! Loads of stuff to delve into that the original story couldn’t due to the size in one game.

Story and plot related, as well as to do with the pacing of the game. Not technical stuff.
How is this for a newbie to the FF Series
