FINALLLY! PS VR (CUH-ZVR2) available in UK - £349.99 @ Smyths

Hi,

First time poster so go easy!

I know that £349.99 is in no-way an amazing deal (given the recent Black Friday offerings of £239.99 elsewhere) so I won't be offended by cold ratings. However this is the first CUH-ZVR2 I have seen in the UK so just wanted to help any peeps like me out there dying to get the newer updated headset.

There is also a Youtube video confirming someone having picked this up yesterday from Smyths.

I picked one up today - so hopefully those holding out for the newer model can finally pick one up. Almost imported an overpriced unit from Amazon US earlier today - glad I didn't.

The audio jack is placed in a slightly more conveniently placed area of the headset itself, opposed to the inline style on V1. And, the processing box now has HDR pass through (and the box itself has had cosmetic style changes).... that’s the two main ‘upgrades’. If that helps anyone at all.

Have a feeling this will go cold as it seems standard retail price as opposed to a deal..

Is this version worth the extra £100?

I got Move controllers and Skyrim VR for my £350 on my frigid deal.... So Cold from me

I have no doubt "deal wise" its a cold vote ticket - however seeing as how this has been quite a stealthy release by SONY I just wanted to get this out there for UK purchasers. In truth if you don't mind import fees and a return to the USA for any warranty issues then you pick this up PLUS DOOM for an extra £25 on the US Amazon site.

Voted hot but imo this should have been released from day one
sold my vr within a month due to the hdr issue having to swap cables about
will wait until this drops to around the same price as Black Friday deals
until then I will wait even though it’s an amazing experience

Bought week ago from Smiths for £249 plus free Gran Turismo so cold for me.

The CUH-ZVR2 version? Because I was always holding off on that deal via Argos at £239.99 due to the older stock only.

Wow. good find.

nevermind virtual reality,Sony needs to get back to reality with the price if want to make it a success.

True Story!

Voted hot being V2. Guess the usual suppliers like Very and Amazon will follow with the likelyhood of credit deals etc. The price has shot up for all VR's anyway so despite being as cheap as £239.99 thats in the past and now not available.

I see Amazon have one which states 2017 and is available from the 15/12. Same price though.

I'd imagine other retailers will be selling the V2 very soon, so I'm gonna hold out for a V2 Skyrim bundle...heat from me though as this is the first V2 'deal' I've seen in the UK.

Still too pricey for el cheapo (even thought at £250) + i suspect vr will be fully integrated with the ps5 so i'll hang on. (however long it takes!) I cant see them giving it the shove after putting so much work into it.

V2 or V1, we should be past the early adoption pricing by now, c'mon sony.

Comparing V1 and V2 and that deals not available now unelss you have a fine DeLorean you can lend us all. You could have got it for £239.99 from Argos with Skyrim VR which is worth more as well if you want to play it like that

Stock of this I'm the Speke store. And it's definitely v2. Came in on Saturday morning

It says it is in the product description

If you don’t have a hdr tv is the cable/ pass through issue relevant?

I don't want V2 I just want the cheap V1 packages of 2 weeks ago. Where is my time machine!

I have a V1 model and no HDR TV, and have never had to fiddle around with the cables. Just hooked it all up, and when I want to play a VR game, I just power it up on the inline remote. Highly recommend the PSVR. If you’re sitting on the fence, go for it.

Not for me but thoughtful post HEAT

No not relevant at all without a HDR TV.

the issue if you DO have a HDR TV is that leaving the PSVR processing box connected between the PS4 and the TV/AMP is that when not using PSVR the PS4 will not see your TV as HDR. If you haven't got a HDR TV then is doesn't matter...just leave it conencted.

Its not really a huge issue even with a HDR TV...personally I have my PS4 conencted to a 4K amp and the amp connected to TV, I have PSVR unit connected direct to TV on a different HDMI input. When I want to use PSVR It takes 10 seconds to swap the cable on the back of the PS4 from the one running to the amp to the one running to the TV.

Yeah Gamers are so hard done by....not.

Our first computer, an Acorn Electron, cost us £140 back in 1983. Adjusted that’s £430 today’s money. Japanese PlayStation 1, cost us £400. £700 in today’s money.

I think the technology has moved on a bit.

Just like VR earlier systems will cost more. If you don’t like that then wait.

Voted cold - v1/v2 doesn’t matter to me - happy I nabbed v1 psvr starter bundle with skyrim & move controllers for £299.

Is it worth the V2 if I don't have a HDR TV?

Pretty shocking Sony released v1 in the first place knownjng that pro was coming out

Hmm it’s odd how the packaging is the same as what is claimed to be the ZVR1 on Amazon. Amazon have the VR Starter Pack for £326.63 at the moment
