One to put away in the freezer if you have room!
These were £40 but are half price until 1 Jan 2010. Vary in weight from 4.5Kg to 6Kg, but are all the same price......
They say these turkeys are slower growing and therefore taste better.

I don't think this refers to these ones. The Bernards are in a different section of the freezer.

I see my pic has been changed...bah, humbug.

I've just checked Tesco.com and the only bird available for £20 is the Bernard Mathews mentioned in the article above.

In store.
Like I said, they were in a different section of the freezer.

bronze turkey? has it been on the tanning bed?

Have just checked Tesco.com and these Turkeys (Fresh) are priced as follows - can not see the frozen alternative online.....

Large 4.6kg - 6.99kg £35.37 - £53.75
Medium 2.0kg - 4.59kg £19.99-£35.30

The above can only be delivered 20-23 Dec (Delivery spaces for 23rd (Final Date) in my area went on line at 0001 this morning and were gone by 0009. I know I got one ! )

The cheaper Frozen Bernard ones are £10, £15 and £20 but are only available for delivery up until 19 Dec

just to confirm the OP,

these are marked 'finest' - silver and black wrapping and are NOT bernard matthews. Same half price rubbish applies, but as they are smaller and higher quality, they do represent good value for money. do you pay £20 for a 10+kg BM or the same price for a 6kg bronze. I personally prefer quality over quantity.

Bronze turkeys are a cross between the white turkey (traditional, big ,fat, no taste bernard matthews things) and the norfolk black (smaller, denser meat, very tasty and expensive.) They are a decent turkey and you will find fresh bronze ones a lot more expensive than this closer to Xmas, but dont expect to find a very big one.

no comment on how they are treated so would not expect free range at this price, but it tastes good.......

Thank you.

Ace! I'll look out for these, thanks.

:santa:

We got one last year at £40 when all the others were sold out - nearly hit the floor when my wife told me how much but it was by far the best turkey we had ever had. Well worth £20 - dont forget to buy the finest goose fat roasties on offer at £1 to go with it!
