Even more disturbingly it comes with a knife too.

According to Tesco a couple of stores had a handful of boxes between them and there are none available anywhere now.

hahaha that made me laugh.

Anyone knows if there is any available around London?

This may seem a silly question, but how are these stored once you have cut into them?

Is this something that needs to be kept in the fridge, or just in a cool dark place?
Being a dry-cured ham, I'm not sure!

Thanks

I find this totally obscene. How many of these would have been binned over Xmas? Repulsive.

Why would people bin them? Also what is repulsive about it?

Do not keep in fridge, once cut and if not using for a while rub a little olive oil on cut portion and lay a piece of cling film over the cut. Do not worry by sell by date. If when you come back to it it is a little dry/odd colour just discard the first slice. It will gradually dry out but my opinion is if it smells ok it will be fine.

Saw these full price at xmas, a great deal if you can find them

Yes quite understandable, I often buy things to throw them straight in the bin

Having bought a few of these I know that getting round to using it all is a bit of task. Also, cutting it can be a bit of a skill. I love them but have not bought recently due to the problem of finishing them. Whilst not necessarily agreeing with the 'repulsive' quote I do think that many would have been bought on impulse/desperation(of finding a present) and consequently ended up in the bin.

Sure store it where you like, put it in the fridge and it will dry out far more rapidly. Go to spain italy and it is stored at ambient even after cutting. It is cured meat and not inclined to go off. Matter of fact if your marks n s has a deli they store it this way-tho I am not sure about it being on top of tne counter next to passing customers.

You don't store it in a fridge as theirs too much airflow in all modern fridges and will dry out in a matter of days. If possible hang them from something in a cupboard and as previously said use cling film to cover. You could also use a large sealed plastic container but not tried this myself.

You have to be very careful though as one of my Italian friends learnt when he found that a mouse had eaten a chunk of it when he stored it on a cupboard shelf. He was distraught, the mouse was very happy I'm guessing.

Mmmm man eat pig. Hubba hubba.

Yup. £18.75 worth of it.

If I could be bothered with the goose chase, I'd definitely buy one.

I think i saw these yellow stickered down to 32.50 just after xmas; didn't bite.
At 75% off though.... Hot hot hot!

Friend of mine got me one of these as a housewarming present. I was on a protein jag at the time so I finished it off myself, over two months. I just kept it in the kitchen with a teatowel over it.

Hardest part was working out how to cut it - it can be quite hard work around the joint.

And it goes without saying that the free knife they throw in is worth every penny you pay for it. Fortunately most people have decent kitchen knives already, even if only the coloured ceramic Jamie Oliver ones from Arghhos.

And the box, knife, apron, stand and base

How on earth is this a 'Hot Deal' when nobody apart from the OP has actually bought one?

Confirmed, heard them talking about this deal on Ham Radio.

Absolute pig of a joke.
