Finish Classic Dishwasher Powder £3 @ Asda/Tesco/Waitrose

3.00 at Asda/ Tesco/Waitrose this week. Not sure if I can post this (?), as this is more or less regular price... But was regularly engaged in the mental arithmetic gymnastics with dishwasher tabs ( it's similar to the Mature Cheddar one) .. When it dawned on me one day that the loose Finish powder was actually cheaper than the Tesco everyday Value Dishwasher Tabs, gramme for gramme! Don't know what a Finish tabs weigh, but the everyday value are 18g each... So you'd need to be able to buy 56 tabs for less than 3 quid to make it cheaper than the powder! I buy loose soap powder- wouldn't dream of buying the tablets... Just thought I'd share this

fixed it!

my kind of intelligent saver!

i use this, or own brand powders because the tabs don't seem to get my load clean. this is not 3 in 1 so you need to add salt & rinse aid, bringing the price up considerably.

Aah, never thought about that- sorry. I only ever use the powder, prob cos we live in a soft- water area. I'd been using the everyday value tabs before I switched to this, and it's massively better, so maybe a good switch for anyone currently using them

If you really want bargain dishwasher powder you should try Daisy Dishwasher Powder 3Kg from Tescos this is half the price of the Finish powder

Agree. This is the stuff I use too.
Not only does it clean perfectly, but at £1.54/kg it's easily the cheapest way of running a dishwasher.

So few places seem to do stock powder at all these days, even my local medium-sized Tesco seem to have stopped stocking this Daisy version, I have to go to one of the larger stores. I guess it's all because they can make so much more money by selling the tablets.

We use salt and rinse aid anyway so dosnt bump price up for us. Tried this a few months back and love it and so much cheaper. Havnt bought tablets since

Yes, I agree with all of the above, and it's mad really, that the manufacturers/ supermarkets have taken the choice away from people. My Tesco only stocks the Finish powder, and that's tucked away on the bottom shelf, to allow the heavier advertised/ promoted branded tabs take centre stage. I would've def tried the Daisy powder if available. Did try the Daisy tabs, and wasn't impressed, but, when you think about it- a loose powder is always gonna be more effective, I mean, it's got to disperse in hot water? Course another plus is that you're free to vary the amount you use- tea cups and plates that've only had biscuits or a sandwich on aren't gonna need as much as a load of pans/ casserole dishes.

That indeed is cheaper! I checked and the Finish All-In-One Max Shine And Protect Lemon 56 Dishwasher Tablets pack weights 1052g and costs £16 (£8 at best when on offer). Have to try this way, thanks!

Thank you. I will look for it online on Pesko Tescos
