Very good deal

Crazy cheap, tempted to buy just to try out 3D

Finlux - Made in Turkey. These are nothing like a Samsung! You get what you pay for at the end of the day.

I had a Vistron TV from ebuyer for over 7 years before it started playing up.
It was £300, samsung's equivalent at the time was £800.

This is a great deal.

HOT

Don't bother!

50hz refresh rate is not good enough to achieve a decent picture, as a result 3D on this is a waste of space.

Main power supply board on mine blew up, 3 days outside its 12 month warranty. Only blessing is most of the parts are manufactured by Vestel so replacements are pretty cheap as Vestel parts are used in a number of badged sets.

Not really - they're made by Vestel in Turkey although it certainly could have a Samsung panel inside, the rest of the TV will be pure Turkish delight.

Vestel are the 3rd largest TV manufacturer and often make TV's that might be badged as Bush, Hitachi, Toshiba and Sharp (their budget versions)

Considering my home insurance excess is only £30 if this does go bang then I'm still going to get new for old and they may even give me a "Brand" name model.. Bought and heat added!

thanks Op

Having extensively researched this TV (427077-D) I can't find any review of it anywhere on the internet. The model before it - 427020-D is all over the place and has good reviews (based on it's cheap price). It's a gamble.

On the plus side, the eBay seller has 99.2% positive feedback and the feedback comments are overwhelmingly positive.

2D to 3D Upscaling

"Turn any content into 3D! Simply press the 3D button, select from three settings, and you 're watching in 3D. You can enjoy your DVDs in a whole new way."

Didn't know that was possible ?

It's amazing what is possible now, you can even get 9.1 channel surround sound from a small black bar mounted under your tv. Best way to see in 3d is to get hammered before you watch lol

Works very well on my samsung johnlewis.com/sam…555
Never paid that much for it though.....

I have the 22" one for my ps3 and it actually works quite good.

Madness, filthy cheap!

Agreed, filthy quality dirt cheap.

Spend a little more for a decent set you won't regret it.

See what Which had to say about Finlux, Bush and others.

I've had one for a year. Only bought it because it was the cheapest 40ish inch. It's brilliant. 3d is excellent quality. This price is even cheaper than I bought mine for. Def recommend!

Would this be any good for gaming? If not any ideas on a 40 - 42" telly thay would do the job. Doesn't have to be Smart, or have USB or Freeview HD or 3D. Just looking to have a good quality basic big screen telly to hook up XBox via HDMI to play games in spare room. Was hopefully lookong for one around £250, Is 50hz good enough for games?

Had a Finlux 42" 3D TV before. Good picture quality and the 3D is pretty good too. Would get another if I had the spare cash!
(ex housemate took the other).

have a similar deal from currys last yet, great tv and still working strong.hot

yes,i use it with ps3 , very good picture.

LG panel, generic chinese PSU, motherboard, remote etc, all assembled in Europe somewhere. For Vestel assembled models its Turkey.

Performance normally good for HD and 3D. Basic freeview tuner, weak sound. The generic processing chip will likely be Mstar bottom end.

The main limitation is basic options in the menus, likely juddery or blurry motion for panning shots etc, slightly unrealistic colours and poor standard definition performance. However many of these criticisms apply to LCD sets in general even from better brands at least for their entry level sets.

It's really down to how important '3D' is to you. If not you would be better off with a plasma set even 720p most of the time depending on viewing distance, brightness of room etc.

For the money, you can't go wrong with this surely?

Received mine today and I'm very impressed with the picture and design, although the sound is bit tinny. All in all it's a bargain for the price! (As long as it lasts a couple of years!). Thanks OneAce for posting!

I can confirm that these sets are 50hz, is that bad? ordered one for my sons ps3.

These aren't 50hz only. The freeview tuner will be 50hz because that is the PAL signal. You will still be able to feed in a 1080p 60hz signal as well as a 50hz one. It will definitely refresh at 50hz and 60hz. For passive 3D you don't need to increase the refresh rate like active shutter. If you want a higher refresh rate for smoother motion get a plasma.

It's quite possible the panel has a higher refresh rate but with these generic sets they only list the supported refresh of the input mode rather than any internal generated higher refresh rate. It's quite common for some of these sets to be 100/120Hz refresh rate but don't state it. These are basic sets though and even at 100/120Hz the motion is not going to be amazing. A typical bottom end chinese tv below.

The important thing is it will be compatible with everything you need it to be compatible with. The bad of course is the chipset will be bottom end with little in the way of picture processing.

Thanks for the info, I asked finlux and they said it is 50hz which got me a little worried. I guess the proof will be in the pudding.

So cheap

mine landed today and i must say i am happy! for the money its a bargain, nice 3d and good pics as far as i can tell.Slightly thick case back but the front looks nice and slim(no nasty bulky plastic edging) all in all so far well chuffed

Can anyone who has bought this TV tell me how well it handles 3D. Is the picture still sharp or is it very dark and dull? What is it like when playing games? Is there any jumpiness?

Can't comment on this exact model (42F7077-D) but one of the TV's I have is the 42F7020-D. IMHO, the 3D is poor. The 3D picture is blurry and unwatchable for sports and movies due to the poor refresh rate. Slow moving pictures like on documentaries are just about bearable. If 3D is important to you (it wasn't for me, just needed a cheap set and 3D was a bonus) this is not the TV for you.

Don't play games so can't help you with that one.
