Doesn't wash the dishes either? No thanks

I bought this when it was last £350, brilliant TV for the money. Sound is tinny, though most people would use a soundbar or home cinema alongside this. Blacks could be deeper, but it is technically an entry set and overall the picture is superb. It's no Panasonic, but for the features, price and picture quality I wouldn't hesitate if you're looking for a decent 50" set!

i bought one and thought it wouldnt be a patch on my samsung, how wrong i was. yes it 100% needs external speakers but the picture is amazing for the money

from experience, the thing to look out for on cheaper TV is their viewing angles.

I must be missing something but is a contrast ratio of 1200:1 is very low

That number doesn't mean anything, actually. True contrast ratios are generally around 300 or 400:1 for LCD panels and it's not possible to tell the true contrast ratio of a panel until you see it yourself.

£350 for a 50" ... I remember buying our Samsung 50" Plasma several years ago from Currys for £600 on offer, we thought that was an absolute bargain. It's still going strong.

All these smart, LED, 3D and what have you tellys for pretty much the price of a phone makes me want to upgrade but I can't get myself round to doing it when I have a fully functional television that does a fantastic job already.

#YOLO is what the kids are saying nowadays.

Lol microwaves have better spec than this TV.

The refresh rate of only 50Hz is its downfall. Motion blur for sports and the like will be pretty bad on this I'd imagine

Good price for the size, but I'd steer clear of edge lit LCDs.

Going from a plasma to a lcd will be a downgrade, hope your plasma lasts until the the k4 old come out at a reasonable price.

Sorry can't edit above, on phone.

What are the smart features like on these finlux sets? Do they have most of the catchup services? Would I be needed a extra box such as Now TV to get them all? Doesn't seem to list all apps on website, so am wondering if it's because they are limited...?

all it needs now is a built in vhs player

I bought this for 250 last month.

The TV supports 60Hz as well as far as display modes go...so much misinformation. 50Hz is simply referring to the fact that it's compatible with the UK broadcasting signal.

So you can view flicker at 50 times a second, thats pretty good.

pay £100 more and watch a normal TV.it felt like a cheap smart mobile phone, decided to send back after few minutes, very poor image .shocking customer service .

loved the tv, thought it was great and then 5 weeks later it wont turn on. needless to say i want it returned :-(

Hi all Could someone please give me a serial number for their 50FME242B-T 50" ? I am trying to get a firmware image from Finlux customer support, to reflash my TV that died during a failed software upgrade. Unfortunately my Serial Number was defaced when the telly was mounted on the wall and they won't answer my emails without a valid serial number
