Good deal, but if you contact your local Fire Service you will get them for Free.

I see what they mean by "pound stretcher" now!
That's definitely stretching the pound oO

Probably better known as smoke alarms or smoke detectors!!

are these fire alarms or smoke detectors? because they're completely different items

My mistake, i always just call anything like this a fire alarm as a generic term. The box says "photoelectric smoke alarm detectors". Which suggests it only goes off if detects a smoke alarm

I would shell out a little more and get a well known, branded alarm. Poundstretcher sell a fair bit of Hyundai stuff, which in reality is just cheap chinese rubbish. I bought a 'Hyundai' tyre pump recently from Poundstretcher..fell apart within days. As a smoke alarm is potentially a life saver, put your safety in more trustworthy brands, from somewhere else..a Kidde twin pack in Argos is £8.99, so for £1.50 more (per alarm) than this tat, I know what I would do, but I guess any alarm is better than none.

0800555815 is the number to cal greater manchester fire service to get them to call round and fit them for free and give you some fire safety advice....... Also if you have kids and they are home they can get to go in the fire engine.......

not really the area you'd want to be skimmping on. probably better just to spend a few more quid and get a decent one

08003895525 if you're in the West Midlands. I'm a fire fighter and can confirm it's totally free with 2 fire angel smoke detectors fitted for you.

Surely this service should be reserved for the old and/or very poor??
Able bodied people who can safely scale a step-ladder and spare a few quid shouldn't be abusing this service imho!!

Great deal. If you don't have one, you should

smoking hot deal!

. you would be surprised then, that there are people who cannot complete diy tasks or who fit them in the wrong locations within a dwelling? Imho, I would always get the professionals in. Then when you are next near the fire station drop them a tenner in the charity box. All parties involved happy. Imho.

Simply resolved by reading the very basic and simple instructions supplied with smoke detectors, it really isn't rocket science!

Please Beware !! do not purchase these smoke alarms i bought two of them for my caravan, I put one up however it failed to go off when I accidentally burnt the toast ,on further inspection (burnt some paper right underneath it ) it failed to go off i also tried with a new battery and discovered it was faulty only the light flashes there is no sound.
So before i fitted the second one i tested it and that was faulty too........So please avoid these smoke alarms and if you have purchased one do a thorough check on it and return it if it is faulty. These smoke alarms are dangerous and should be removed from sale.
