Part of the Bank Holiday sale.

The Fire HD 7 has been designed as a powerful and reliable device that boasts a wide range of features to keep up with today's ever-growing market.

The ultra-lightweight device runs on a powerful quad-core processor with 8GB of storage and a 7" HD (1280x800) touch display for stunning visuals. Perfect for browsing, watching, playing and reading, the Fire HD 7 gives you instant access to the Amazon Appstore with a great selection of Android-based apps and games. The collection is designed to offer top-rated apps like Facebook, Netflix, and Evernote, as well as your favourite games like Minecraft in HD. Your choice of entertainment is then enhanced with the tablet's high quality stereo speakers that have incorporated Dolby Digital Plus technology to create virtual surround sound, and deliver clearer dialogue in films and TV programmes.

With Wi-Fi connectivity, the Fire HD offers ultra-fast web browsing and email, as well as integrated support for applications like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and more. It also comes with free unlimited cloud storage for all your Amazon-purchased content, so you don't have to worry about losing your favourite media ever again.

Great for families, the Fire HD 7 adopts the use of profiles; this enables each user to keep their personalised settings like email and social accounts, game levels and more.

The Fire HD 7 offers a range of exclusive features brought to you by Amazon. Second Screen allows you to send video and audio to the big-screen using the "Fling" icon. This will then free up your Fire HD for other tasks. The tablet also features an Advanced Streaming and Prediction feature that monitors your viewing habits and pre-buffers selected programmes and films that a viewer is likely to watch next.

Other features include a front-facing VGA camera for free Skype-to-Skype calls plus a SlimPort enabled microUSB port that lets you connect your tablet using SlimPort adapters for viewing content on your TV, computer monitor and more. The Fire HD 7 has an extra long battery life, which provides up to 8 hours of use on a single charge.

16gb - Use code : TDX-WRTX

Heat added. Expect this to get very hot.

The 6 never seems to drop... Surely it's due?
Nice post regardless.

Cold not Amazon

Not a fan of the Amazon styled OS and infrastructure, but damn good price.

Are these still readable in strong sunlight, my old fire was virtually unreadable outdoors

How does this compare to the Hudl 2? which to go for... hmmm. Can anyone advise please?

Unless I was seeing things I'm sure this was £59 in the Beaumont Leys branch.

smaller screen by over an inch, screen resolution smaller - not 1080p. Amazon bloatware vs tesco bloatware.

Hi MrJinxy, I have both and think they're both good devices. I'd probably go for the Hudl 2 slightly more because there is a greater range of apps available on the Google play store and it has expandable memory. A massive downside of the Hudl is poor battery life, so if that's important to you and not the apps then go for the Kindle.

Hudl 1 & 2 very susceptible to cracked screen, maybe a purpose design flaw to keep people buying replacements lol
Jump on Facebook see a bunch of complaints about the issue

I've used a hudl 2 and an hd 6 and I'd go hudl every time. Pretty much because it's normal android and has better spec just makes it easy a better experience.

Just bought 2 great price one each for my boys

The battery life is pretty good, I usually get 7-8 hours depending on what I'm using it for. It will last longer if you're mainly using it for reading.

Just seeing in sunlight. Are you all hermits or what?

I would avoid the colour screen kindles, the battery on my kindle, my nieces and my friends eventually failed, it's shocking. Stick to an ipad if you want a tablet to last you years, it's expensive but worth EVERY PENNY.

Seems a decent deal for a 4th gen. I've a 3rd gen and I'd avoid the 8Gb. Just not enough space there and there is no sd-card slot to add space.

Only really worth it if you are already an Amazon Prime subscriber. Otherwise there are probably better more flexible tablets for similar money.

Aside from the front facing camera isn't the "new" hd7 a step down from the older hdx?

It has a normal screen so not the same as Kindle...

Brilliant tablet thanks

Got one last Christmas, always wifi and screen giving problems, factory reset more than 100 times, spoke to Customer service no help, even my 3 years daughter don't touch it now
