Just ordered one thankyou
Good tablet for the price and worth the extra over the 7 inch model. I'm considering buying the kids version for a family member but unsure about the value of Fire for kids subscription. Anyone have any advice if it's worth it? Thanks
Never been this cheap!! Heat

Depends if you trust them not to break it? I personally buy the tablets withiut kids and add the sub for kids myself at £1.99 Per kid per month. I don't see the extra premium worth it for if it breaks and a case.
Is it worth ordering this instead of a kindle? I was looking for a kindle but heard they're being phased out??
I bought a warehouse 32gb version for a very similar price (displayed prices are reduced by 20%, mine was used good £57 display price). We have a hudl and 16gb is very easy to fill with a few storage intensive games for the kids.
Can someonw advise please. My children like watching junk on YouTube and our ipad is quite old.

Would this be a suitable substitute?

The good thing about these tablets is you can put in a micro SD and format it as internal storage so you should be fine for storage space.

U want the poor chap to break out of jail just to get google play?
Can anyone advise how these compare to the fire 7?
1.5gb ram seems pretty low.

Cheers mate
Pleasantly surprised to see fire OS now allows external storage to be added and formatted as internal storage. This was my main issue with these tablets before as the storage management in fireOS is appalling and you quickly got to the stage where you had no space but only a few 100MB of installed apps and no idea what was taking up the space.

A bit better than the 7. IMO the 8 is worth the current price but i'd never in a million years pay the normal £79.99. You pretty much have to go through the rigmarole of disabling all the Amazon bloatware if you want Google services on it as it slows down considerably if you don't and need to do it every time there's a software update. Some apps don't work/don't work well on it from the Play store and a lot don't have alternatives on the Amazon app store, the screen isn't very good either.

Paid ~£31 with the 20% of the used warehouse items for mine so shouldn't complain too much.

E-ink Kindles make for much easier reading than current Fires so they'd be a poor substitute for e-books.
