To wait for black Friday and buy it non refurbished?
Great tablet for the price. The Amazon apps can be annoying but as a tablet it's solid and almost indestructible.

You used to be able to just live chat them and ask. They removed mine on 3 different devices, at 3 different occasions, for nothing.
Advertising bombardment + 2gb ram = ☹

It's a round about way but yes you can, you need to go into developer mode and install a few things on the tablet. There are a few guides on YouTube.
Brilliant..
Got this couple months ago, option to pay in monthly installments useful - Amazon emails you couple days before payment is taken
It will be the new model Black Friday so you will be lucky to see it at £100. This old model looks little different to the new being only slightly faster, maybe even slower in some cases. Though it is possible the main gain will be in the GPU if Snapdragon.

At £75 using the code you will not find anything anywhere near this for the price.
Cracking find OP- I've bought mine about 6 months ago - as others have said it's a little slow sometimes but I use it mainly for Netflix etc and the screen is great (imo) better than the Samsungs I've had

What was your argument for them to take them off?

I just asked them to remove them as they were intrusive. I did say once that the kindle was a gift. I don't know if they still remove them for free, but worth checking.

I had this but they only seem to remove them for free if bought somewhere other than Amazon. I believe it is because the retailers have no option to buy without the adverts

You could try contacting CS and say it's a present for a child, Ive done this previously and they remove the ads

hmmm possibly. I bought both my FIre HD and Kindle Paperwhite from Argos, so that might be the case.

Still, worth people knowing to save them paying to remove pointless ads.

I've had the adverts taken of all three Fire HD 10's in our household for free.
All you need to do is live chat Amazon and complain you are disgusted your children's new Fire tablets are receiving adverts for gamblng and other similar services such as tv shows for adults.
It only takes Amazon a few seconds to switch the adverts off on the device but to be fair the adverts are not intrusive at all and only appear on the lock screen, It's not as if they are pop ups whilst you are using it.
I only got mine switched off out of interest to see how easily I could get it done.

Kids still got 4yr old gen1 7" tablets surprisingly still no issues with them! I do a factory reset once or twice a year.

I bought the latest full HD 10" for myself and its excellent, battery life is good, installed Google play store for all the apps I am used to.
Right so from the comments this is good to buy for £80 / £75(if you use gift05) I'll be buying it then. Won't get anything for that price on the market at the moment?

You mean one ad on the lockscreen, that can be removed for free? Hardly a bombardment is it?

Hard to say what they will be. They might even be clearing new stock down for the 31st October upgrade.
Is not this the cheapest it has ever been?

Think this was same or similar price about a month ago.

This is £75 with code. I think it was £85 or £90 before. Lowest I ever saw was about this price using a 20% code but even then, I think they were a lesser graded 'used'. £75 is exactly half the newer model price.
Could not get code to work but still good value
Code is Gift05. Copy and paste it. Seems unlikely it has been withdrawn since this morning.
Edit - seems it is another lucky dip, though try the 'landing page'.

Eligible Amazon customers who, after being invited by Amazon by email or banner on Amazon.co.uk and who have visited the landing page amazon.co.uk/b?i…031 where the offer is explained, and can see the Terms & Conditions of the offer, will benefit from a £5 promotional code to redeem against a qualifying purchase of at least £25 on or before 31 October 2019 on Amazon.co.uk (the "Offer").

Fab find
Thanks OP,Got red and blue ones for two grandkids for xmas,
Does anyone know if this would provide a decent experience with the new COD mobile.
Great tablet, my only gripe is the Netflix app limits the resolution to 720p and not the native 1080p of the device. More Netflix's fault than amazon's.
Great price, but it can get annoying with the amount of ads
Got mine yesterday nice tablet for the price just asked amazon to remove ads as they where inappropriate for kids and they did it for free

You can easily root & disable all the amazon apps, or install lineage OS. It runs very well without all the amazon bloatware.

The easiest way is to just root using kingroot & then use amazon fire toolbox to 'deamazonise' it, it's pretty simple.

You'll find instructions on xda.

If you're familiar with rooting devices then the full bootloader unlock is much better & more comprehensive, but can be a bit tricky/daunting for beginners.

I used to jailbreak my iPhones before switching to android so got some experience. I'll have a search cheers for the pointers.
Great value. Android tablets are pretty much redundant these due to lack of choice, it's either the Firetablets vs the expensive Samsung tabs. Apple has completely dominated the tablet market and you can see why.
