For all those thinking about this, you wont regret buying it, its brilliant and worth while buying the 4K version for the little extra, its lightning fast with great selection of apps and alexa voice control works perfectly to.

Just for a few TIPS though: there are a few settings that ideally need changing to get the BEST from this, which are:

1. Go to Settings, select Display & Sounds then change the setting that reads "Match Original Frame Rate" to ON also change the setting that reads Dynamic Range Settings & Select ADAPTIVE.

2. I would also suggest should you TV support choose 10-bit or 12-bit this is also found in the display & sounds menu.

3. You could also change from RGB to YCbCr especially if you select 10-Bit or 12-Bit changing to YCbCr will give you a better picture... but experiment with this you may find dependent on your TV RGB tends to be a little more vibrant colour-wise.

The first settings I mentioned are VERY IMPORTANT, becuase by default the Fire Stick 4K is set to ALWAYS ON 4K not ADAPTIVE this means your Fire TV still upscale everything you watch to 4K HDR or attempt to, however its early days for the Fire 4K stick and it tends to be all wish-washy on a lot of content with exaggerated colors & false vibrancy, so choose ADAPTIVE this means ONLY 4K HDR content will be played when viewing native 4K HDR content. Match Original Frame Rate is also BEST left to ON.

Enjoy

Voucher works but how do I select a click and collect option to avoid postage?

I'm having this problem too
Yes still too expensive.... For pretty much small amount of gain over V2 not a bargain YET
A little ignorant with this technology, sorry.... I have a smart tv that plays all the apps mentioned and in 4K - where possible. Is there any benefit to having this above using the smart tv? Is there a benefit at all? I’m assuming it’s nothing like a more powerful processor that could provide a better picture?

It's a code for ebay. Not sure if it was only for certain users though

If your TV does what you want then, no. People are gonna say you can load extra apps / side load stuff - but if you are happy with your TV then stick with that. If a few years time when your TV doesn’t support the latest app then maybe get the latest and greatest Fire TV Stick - but until then don’t.

Don't bother... If that's the case.

Small amount of gain? It's faster, 4k, supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR10+

For how much content that's available for no extra charges.? Get real how many people will be buying this to watch sub paid for 4k content and on a decent 4k TV at a optimal distance to notice the difference between 4k and 1080p it's a placebo effect.

I have a 4k samsung tv and a fire tv box, the fire tv box beats my tv at displaying amazon 4k hdr content, but I don't think it's worth buying the amazon device as a result of that.

4ft, pmsl, you are correct there, those toddlers that like being so close to the tv won't notice a difference. 4ft, haha.

4k you will notice the difference. HDR even more so. Plus you'll appreciate the extra power and ram when it comes to running IPTV.

Edit: hkphooey removed their reference to viewing from 4ft. Haha

One of my favorite things about my Chromecast is it shows my photo albums when on standby. Does firestick do this?
Is the click and collect only available on the argos website (not on the ebay store?)

Has anyone got click and collect + code working?
I watch Prime through an app on my blu ray player - but that's connected via a cable, I suppose buying this box would allow me to stream via wifi and use it on another telly...not sure that's worth £40 though...but I have Now Tv on all my tellies but I've watched all their stuff now, only signed up to Prime in December and I love it!
