Heat even if it just reminds people to check their own smoke alarm at home. They should have a date on the back when they need replacing. Usually every 10 years.

Worth it for the CO alarm alone, but worth noting that the fire alarm does not meet the Scottish standard for fire alarms.

Only the Scottish government standard. Insurance companies ect still only require this type. I must be the minority of people that fitted interlinked ones in a private dwelling I know.

No wonder there £2.40 in a Scottish store. Considering the law in Scotland stipulates they must be interlinked and I highly doubt these are. Making them non compliant

Only heat/smoke alarms need to be interlinked for fire safety.

FYI HUKD: Carbon Monoxide detectors should be low to the ground as possible in rooms where you have gas appliances as oxygen is lighter, CM is heavier.

For example if you have your kitchen door open (I do as the boiler heat circulates keeping the timed GCH periods down) & a CM detector on the worktop and CM is escaping the kitchen (or elseplace) you could still die in your bed from oxygen starvation as the bed is much lower than the worktop.

Most qualified heating ‘engineers’ don’t even know the basics of CM poisoning and therefor alarm positioning, my maintenance subcontractors keep putting the alarm on top of the boiler which is a no go anyway for false alarms & then people removing them like people did with ‘smoke’ alarms.

I have my CM alarm on the wall at just below the washing machine (on the wall next to It) at W machines handle level as the gas boiler is almost above, do some good research on Gov fire safety sites before you install a CM alarm - it could save you suffocating in your sleep.

Also old out of date/damaged (includes painted) smoke alarms should be handed to your local Fire service for disposal as like fridges there are environmental damaging chemicals in them.

    Be safe, be educated (edited)

    Are they compliant, ie interlinking?

The carbon monoxide detector does not need to be linked to the smoke / heat detectors so this product is 'compliant' to that end.

Why is it so hot considering its in one store? 725 members in Dundee ?

Probably lol, like Glasgow it’s full of poverty/low income/disposable levels.

Aberdeen only escaped the poverty/south (Edinburgh) trap divide thanks to the discovery of oil in the North Sea.

Brilliant price for these. We got a hard wired system with battery backup when we rewired the house recently, but we had these previously and they are very good. Heat.
