10 years my a**. They tested it for 10 years before they brought it to market? Two years tops, three if you don't eat toast.

Forget that then. I need something that doesn't wake me up in the middle of the night.

I'd have to agree definitely don't last 10 years
No idea whether 10 years is true, but I've had mine for 7 so far and not needed to replace it (and testing it weekly and still works)

But fire angel will send you another one till the tenyears is up.
If they're still about
Check amazon for reviews these were the ones handed out by the fire service and last from 6months to 3years. Do not believe the 10year label this is not the case.

Get a heat detector
Got 2 from fire brigade, 7 years still going
I bought three of these from B&Q and in less than two year one by one they started beeping in the middle of the night. So battery life is defiantly not ten years. And to add insult to injury you can not replace the battery.
10year battery, oh joy 10 years of hitting it with a broom handle to shut it up!!

Did you telephone them? My experience is very different to yours. One quick phone call and done.

No need to keep the receipt, the detector has a serial number. No need for anything to be kept.

I am nothing to do with fire angel..

Bought this a few months ago based on brand and reviews. After not even 1 month it started beeping at intervals (flat battery). Contacted Fireangel directly and never got a reply. Must have been unlucky and got a faulty one as I know the brand is great.

So contacted fire brigade regarding first one that didn’t last they replaced it with one from a so called different batch ... this one still did not last .... they do not last 10 years!
The thing is will they offer a free replacement if your house burns down during the 10 years?
My Fire Angel smoke detector is currently beeping periodically in the garage and it has been installed for 9 months. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 20.0px 'Apple Color Emoji'}
not all FA alarms have a 10 year battery

chuck it out or replace battery
How easy to fit diy ?
Call us local firefighters. We will install new ones for free when ever you need them.
I had couple fitted by brigade one of them started beeping after about a year, rang fire angel with serial number and they send me new one without any problem all sorted by one phone call.
We had 4 of these installed by the fire Service a couple of years ago - 2 have failed ...
Oh and when they do fail you can't pop the battery out to silence them ... hammer taken to one at 3am to STFU

I buy these off eBay - usually around £8 each when bought in bulk (I have one in each room). My last set lasted ten years - just started the new set.

Has the same problem, all 3 replaced and it has happened again 2 years on. Mine are the ones that link together. May try and get a refund as they were not cheap!

They have a spring loaded trigger next to the catch that twists into the back plate. The battery is disconnected and the beeping stops when you detach them.
Ours has just packed up after about 3years The battery went and you can't change the
Was going to buy some of these a couple months back but instead realised that if you call your local fire service they will come out, supply and fit the same ones for free

Well when I say toast I use it for a catchall for whenever anyone else in the house 'cooks'.
Not me of course.

Bought 2 on Amazon about 3 years ago, both needed batteries after about 2 years. The ASA should have a good look at this baseless battery claim.
