Fireball whisky 500ml £10 at Tesco

Found 13th Jun 2015
Saw this whilst doing the shopping last night. Never seen it this cheap before, so am stocking up. Definitely my favourite shot, and goes well mixed with apple juice or red bull. I prefer it just out the freezer.

Fireball Whisky infused with cinnamon was created by a Canadian mixologist turned scientist in the mid-80s during the coldest winter ever seen. The intention was to invent a permanent solution to frostbite. The invention was shared between veteran bartenders across Canada for a few years. Fireball took an important turn when several bottles were smuggled into the US from Canada. Word got around and now the chaps at Fireball are trying their best to produce enough Whisky.

    why water it down ?!
I don't like whisky, but I actually didn't mind this stuff. Was more drinkable than I ever expected. My dad is the whisky drinker and he quite liked it as well. I do know a few Canadians who regard it simply as gutrot-juice though (eh).

    Price is way cheap! Heat!

I don't think I would drink it at any price. Recently recalled in some countries due to its propylene glycol (antifreeze to you and me) content.
If its cheap enough you could always use it to fill the washer bottle in your car!

There is a European recipe and a North American recipe. Stock from the USA, where they don't mind drinking propylene glycol, was accidentally imported. Theres no chance Tesco and Asda would make this same mistake, although Wetherspoons did!

    Lol

Propylene Glycol is an ingredient in anti freeze, and so is water. Do you drink water?

    This stuff is lovely.

The ingredient in question is called Propylene Glycol (PG). There are different grades of
PG. Propylene glycol USP/EP (pharmaceutical grade) is the only grade appropriate for
application in food due to its strict handling practices and purity. It is widely used in
thousands of food and drink applications, including ice cream for example. This is
different than industrial grade PG which is used for applications like antifreeze. The media
has conveniently left out this very important difference!
For a similar effect, just spray Ralgex on your tongue
If you like cinnamon, this is good stuff.

Just like when there was no chance that they were selling beef burgers full of horse!

Agreed, are there really people out there dumb enough to believe this crap?! Also, Whisky by definition is 40%+, hence why this is 'liquer' on the bottle.

    Great post!
Didn't this stuff get banned in a bunch of places for containing actual antifreeze? (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/29/fireball-whiskey-recall_n_6067486.html)
Still, it is very drinkable stuff...
