The brand has been devalued now Mike Ashley has stocked it in his chav infested sportsdirect stores. About what its worth now sadly

What a cracking story op.

Cold.

old news and firetrap is now up there with hi tec and lonsdale, would be to embarrased to wear that tack

Sorry, not great - I am gutted i bought a load of firetrap before SD starting offering it and all the chavs started buying it - used to be a great brand but sadly now devalued.

If you ask me you paid £9 too much for the shoes. Firetrap isnt the Firetrap it used to be.

Wouldn't touch Firetrap with a barge pole. Cheap and nasty compared to 10 years ago when it was good quality.

heat added, I don't judge clothing by its label

Identical fire trap clothing on sale in USC at full rack price. I guess some people are still duped then. Guess it's a good deal by the OP.

interesting

OP : 'this isn't a cheap brand either'

lol

@sashim05 : how can they be 'on sale at USC' if they are 'full rack price' ?
Wouldn't they be FOR SALE ?

I had firetrap shirts and t shirts that I thought were excellent value and quality. Then Sports direct bought over the name. I ordered some shirts and t shirts and they are the poorest of quality, real shame. T shirts I bought a month ago have been relegated to only being worn to side of swimming pool on holiday as I don't care if they get oil on them, would not wear them out at night. Great brand wasted I am afraid.

Ok for holiday day wear...most of the t-shirts even going back a couple of years have been unbelievably thin materialwise, you get a couple of washes out of them and then they're good for polishing windows only.

well aside from personal opinions of the brand, they are one of my favourites, great designs and from my experience great quality, and hating on firetrap just for being sold in a certain store is just a tad pathetic, so you wouldnt buy a samsung tv if aldi started stocking them at a very cheap price?

When Mike Ashley buys a famous, and what was once respected name. he then sources a cheap supplier usually from the far east to make the clothing, and just has the brand name (that he now owns) stamped on it.
If you think the quality of any of the brand names that Sports Direct now own, are anything like the quality they used to be, then you're very naïve.

well i have had some recent firetrap clothing and can honestly say the quality is exactly as i would expect from firetrap, unless i got some of the before mike ashley clothing, but i also think its very negative to assume that as he as done this before he must automatically have done it with this brand also

There's no assumption about it, its a fact of marketing and shrewd business. Buying brand names and putting that name on inferior products is done all the time. With watches, clothing, footwear, electrical goods, the list is endless.
Its a well known brand name that makes a product look as if its worth more than its price, and that why Mike Ashley buys these names.

I don't think anyone has actually dismissed Firetrap clothing just because of where it is sold, the majority (of which I am one) seem to be of the opinion that the quality isn't as good as previously.

Sports Direct have a history of putting brand names on cheaper inferior quality clothing and selling off at a 'discounted' price from an overly inflated RRP.

re Samsung TV from Aldi, yes the masses would be all over a Samsung TV at 90% off RRP from Aldi (or wherever) - BUT if the quality was lacking there would be comments saying so.
