is it me or doesnt this mean u still have to pay a monthly fee even if u have a Regular Saver ??

Account Fees There is no cost for the first six months. After that you can avoid paying the £10 monthly account fee by:

  • paying at least £1,000 into the account every month
  • or maintaining an average monthly balance of £1,000
  • or also having a mortgage, credit card, Personal Loan, savings (except Regular Saver), First Directory or Home insurance with us.

nice one thankyou

I called them.... just pay £1000 on the first calander day of the month and take £1000 out the second day... the condition one is ticked....

Another E.g. transfer 1000 on the day 1 of month.. keep 300 for autosweep to regular saver and have a standing order to take out £700 to another account which will pay something instead of nothing.
Call them to confirm they pick up the call mostly on first ring (cool customer service).

If somehave saving more than 10k plus then satander123 account is better than any saving account.

Don’t forget having a card with them gives you access to visa offers.
Similar to to American express offers.
recent ones have been £10 off a £40 spend at H&M, Lidl etc

Would I get the switch incentive even though my wife was with HSBC until recently?

I have 2 current accounts I switched on of them to first direct a couple of years back, can I swap the 2nd one and get this offer? Or will I be void due to already swapping an account to them?

I switched last month, fairly easy process. Bonus paid already. Also worth mentioning, if you are not happy, and want to leave after 6 months, they will pay you £100 for leaving!....BUT to qualify for that, you need to have been paying in £1000 per month for the previous 6 months.

Link takes me directly to first direct, tried manually searching in Mse but no joy, can anybody confirm if this is still available?

Or just open a regular saving account and leave it with a nil balance. Condition 3 ticked.

Just move to Clydesdale and get £250 for switching

Is the interest paid monthly or annually on this?

Says on the website that £100 will be paid in, not £125??

Edit: took me a while to find it on the MSE website:

If you switch to HSBC, they pay £150 + £50 after 12 months, as mentioned in OP's post. They also have a regular saver account at 5%, max £250/month.

Though my experience with them so far has not been great.

These are in their terms and conditions.. hope this helps. You can call them to confirm for any doubts.

**£125 to say hello

If you open a 1st Account, switch your everyday banking to us using the Current Account Switch Service and pay in at least £1,000 within three months of opening the account, we'll top it up with £125 - it's the least we can do to welcome you on board...

This offer is limited to one payment per customer or joint account, and you'll get the money within 28 days of all criteria being met.

Sorry, we can only offer this to people who haven't previously held an account with us, and we reserve the right to refuse your application and extend or withdraw this offer at any time. Credit is subject to status.

Calculated daily and paid anually.

Get £125 for leaving after 6 months as well

Do you need to switch or can you just transfer £1000 in each month?

I'd love to switch again, but I've run out of banks to switch too.

They do £50 for referer and £100 for you if you know someone with a FD Account - more in total although I guess then you argue about the split !

Mate as per my understanding.....

£125 you will get after switching using the link(their usual switching bonus is £100)
+ you have to transfer £1000 within 3 months.

Transfer £1000 each month (and/or withdraw £1000 next day = nil balance) to waive off £10 monthly fee (fee is after 6 months i guess)

If you are planning to get benifit of their £100 leaving bonus after 6 month then transfer every month £1000 ( and/or withdraw £1000 next day).

125 alone or using a referral £100 and £25 not guaranteed lol

How are they in terms of day to day banking use... Heard not so good things about their parent company HSBC (in terms of being slightly orthodox / pedantic)

Money saving experts says...first direct has been rated top in their customer service.....

I think their parent company customer service executives have been given instructions to answer first direct calls first instead of giving priority to hsbc customers ... hehe

Yeah FD are top class for customer service... been with them for five years +. Their banking app is simple to use too.

What is the santander123 account??

What is the santander123 account??

Satander123

It pays 1%, 2%, 3% cashback on various bills, mortgage etc
Plua 1.5% interest on balances upto £20,000

There is a charge of monthly £5 so overall your cashback and interest need to compensate that.

£500 monthly payin + 2DD

There is a very good analysis on moneysaving expert to maximise the return on the balances across various accounts. But if you are high saver then Satandar123 still beets all.

Also check satander123 lite..

Hope this helps.

What do you mean? They started sending loads of documents to sign and return. Better to give a call to customer care.

I applied online a week or so ago and haven't heard a thing. No email, text or mail.
Will give them a ring

It doesn't matter which link I use I always see just £100, not £125. I guess the deal is expired?
