Went in the other week and they had 50p gardening items but as usual they were confusing people by having 50p all over the shelves but some items were still £1. So as always with Poundland check you can't buy cheaper elsewhere like Wilko or Home Bargains and then double check what you've actually been charged. Many things are better value elsewhere.
They had a half price sale just after christmas so advertised abit wrong saying first time ever

agreed, perhaps i might now go there now at 50p.
I don't understand these pound shops because they sell items that are a lot more than 1 pound hardly Poundland
In my local branch they replaced checkout staff with machines and there was no human being available to serve when I last visited, so won't be going back.
Buys a 50P water blaster, breaks after 1 use. 11/10

So they should temporarily be called, "half a pound store?" :P

Same at ours. They still have a till but rarely a soul to serve.
I was at self checkout yesterday and had to get someone over to let me buy 4 spoons, classed as a dangerous weapon now.
My town is full of elderly people, they all hate the new self service, get confused with it or take ages to pack. They all moan because they just want someone to serve them, it's not much of an ask but when all 4 tills have an elderly person at them it takes 10 mins to buy 1 item in there. They should still have atleast 1 manned till open to speed it all up ::
in mine we have most self service ones but 4 manual tills & they are always manned though its not a shop i go in often

It's known as the "half a pound or a pound or more than a pound store" AKA a normal shop.
Totally agree! In there about 1hr ago. Few bits for the garden and few outdoor toys all marked as 50p in the typical Poundland pile. Through till and two out of four items were £1. Kids wanted them so I kept them. Clever marketing !
50p sale is still on: I got some waterproof gardening gloves for 50p yesterday.
50p sale still on. Bought some horticultural fleece. I wonder if they'll be reduced further to 10p, like Xmas stuff did earlier this year?
