Hi, depending on what type of tariff you are on this may be a good choice lasts for 25 months fixed direct debit and also with a free cosy thermostat which a professional will install for free.

may not be a deal for everyone also can get £30 cash back with moneysupermarket or the energy club by Martin Lewis.

thanks

Is this really a bad deal, it's cold ?

I guess it depends if people have done their sums or not. I've been with First for the last few years, as they have been the cheapest option available to me, but looking around last month, they're not anymore. Plus, their deals that extend beyond 12 months are never what I'd personally deem as good. You pay over the odds, gambling that there is going to be a hefty price rise after 12 months. Saying all that, it is just how I see it and I prefer to stick to 12 month deals at the longest.

Not sure if it's a good deal but I was with them a few years back and the customer service was very bad (even for a utility provider - most are poor anyway) - took 4 months to sort out a direct debit instruction from my bank and think they must have 2 at tops customer service staff for the entire UK judging by how long I waited to get a phone call answered.

I have a multi-faceted harassment complaint in with them at the moment. I've was receiving 8 calls a day from their collections team, had two debt collectors at my door, a court summons, and a warrant of entry - all for a zero balance!

Every time I've spoken to them they're very apologetic, but I can't get any explanation as to why it won't stop! Their staff are as much use as the second half of the countdown clock.

Agree with poor cs. I was with them a few years ago too. They came to fit one of those new smart meters but my house didn't like it. The engineer couldn't get the meter to register properly and after quite a few attempts took it out again and fitted a new, standard meter instead. Unfortunately the whole 3 meters in one day completely confused the billing and meant that they couldn't produce one. When I left 5 months afterwards they couldn't even get a final bill. Trying to get them to answer phone calls was a joke, 30 mins to an hour wasn't unusual, and they never answered letters. The whole thing, from meter mess up to sorting out, took about 2 years.

No way I'll go back to these, their standing charge went up over 1300% a clear sign that they manipulate their prices to try to con people with the unit price.

Been with FU for the past 5 years. They were always the cheapest, but not any more. They also have an exit charge of £30 for each fuel, which many other's don't charge. Gone with IRESA now as they have the cheapest 12 months fixed tariff with no exit fee.

P.S. They are not listed with many compare engines, so go direct to their web site to compare.

I'm trying to get away from these Bar Stewards, I made the switch on 3rd Jan and the electricity went fine, but these.keep putting the kibosh on the gas switch. Twice it has failed. I keep having to settle up again with these jokers when a new switch reading is taken.

What's everyone on at the moment then with these different providers tariffs ?

Just wondering.

Just moved to the Coop. Was 3rd cheapest for me, but didn't recognise the top two. Fingers crossed as their cs isn't top notch either.

Oh I hope it all goes well for you and I just seen though Uswitch gave First-Utility second best cs of the year.
