Garmin Fenix 5x plus - £636.65 (with code) @ First Class Watches
Found 25th NovFound 25th Nov
Not a cheap watch but best deal I can find for a great watch

It's not really a smartwatch as such. It's much more than that. You stick with your smartwatch that won't last a full day and is nowhere near as powerful. (popcorn)

'only' £100. The 5+ is great and has maps and NFC. Excellent. But I don't need either. The 5 has everything else the 5+ has. That's £100 in my pocket. (y)

AlphaPets That's only £100 more for the latest 5....

Cold who pays this much for a smartwatch?! It looks ugly too

I have ah Omega & I agree craftsmanship is incredible, but if you think the watch costs anywhere near what we paid lol it's mostly the brand we're paying for. We'll be paying a huge chunk of their huge marketing budget paying sportsman millions! Manufacturing cost wise I bet not too different than the fenix....could be wrong but gut feel

Garmin Instinct Graphite Outdoor GPS Smartchwatch / Watch £229.49 @ First Class Watches

Great deal for a watch that came out today. Its feature set appears to be somewhere between the Vivoactive 3 and Fenix 5.

First Class Watches were out of stock last night but you can get it for £230 on Millets using the code INSTINCT (a second chance email deal after I missed out in the competition).

I might have just been lucky then,I didn’t show them the code I used and they didn’t check.

My pricematch request was turned down because the price was achieved by using a code.

Just showed them the price it was in my basket on my phone at First Class Watches and they matched it and 10% off !

if you hit up american ebay you can find one for a lot cheaper around £240 or you can get a 35% discount with a 'Rob35' code - takes price to $295 but you'd need a ship address within the US.. otherwise $40 shipping plus duty great tool watch that fits a lot smaller than the size.

Well i am impressed by this watch and am certainly not going to return it. Listening to music off it is awesome, no need for my phone anymore - this does drain the battery mind, but thats not unexpected! Garmin pay is awesome.... especially when im out for a run and come to pub where i may or may not fancy a cheeky pint or 2 :D Bit annoying initially as i had to open a Starling Bank account, though it turned out this was dead easy to do and zero hassle. Shame all banks dont adopt this, but nevermind. Accuracy on the GPS is good and seems accurate. Fix is pretty quick, not sure if its any quicker than my old (rip) Forerunner 235 though? The battery drain is pretty much what it says in the book aswell. I have suffered post activity drain once since ive had this watch and it was after id played golf (dropped an extra 6%?). Barring that, its been as per the Garmin specs. The one thing i have noticed is that my phones battery seems to be taking a hit, not sure whether thats just the age of the phone or its directly linked to the watch, as it was starting to wain before i picked the watch up? Worth noting however, that some people have experienced bad battery life, so far (fingers crossed) i havent. Played golf with it twice now, and to be honest its a bit basic to what ive seen on other specialist Golf watches (from memory). It did however, show me all the information i required, but sadly not on the one screen. I had to scroll down, which isnt a deal breaker, but a tad annoying. But having said that, it did exactly as required and then updated my phone with the shots i played on the holes graphically. I love this. I need to learn how to use it for golf but overall am pleased and it saves me buying a dedicated golfing watch. So worthwhile imo, but probably should be better due to the cost, but then that would eradicate specialist golf watches i guess. Appearance wise its still pristine. No scratches or damage and ive never had it off my wrist whilst grafting or working in the garden. Very happy and very impressed :D Whether its worth an upgrade over the Fenix 5 i doubt, but over older models, definitely

I think the 5Plus makes the regular 5 a much better, the battery life is naff when I was testing it

Well it arrived the morning as stated, 2 days after ordering. Which was impressive considering it was showing out of stock with a 7-10 waiting time. So as far as shop service goes, 1st class! First impressions of the watch are that i love it. I love the fact that i just put on my trekz titanium headphones and off i go, no phone, nothing, and music or podcasts playing. So for me, thats huge. Only had a little play about with the maps when out on a short bike ride (7 miles) with the bairns, but gps seemed accurate and directed us correctly. Battery life didn't do anything bad after a coupe of shortish runs and a bike ride (like some have reported), so ill just have to wait on that and see if its consistent. Haven't had the 'powerdrain' that others have reported. Garmin pay is a bit of a diddle at the moment as not many UK banks have signed up, so it looks like im going to have to open up an account with one of the banks to use that service. A pain, but worthwhile imo for what it gives me. Playing golf next week so will report back on that one, however, from what i've seen it looks like a pretty basic golfing watch, which im a little disappointing at, but ill withhold judgement till then. Ill report back later when ive had it a little while, but after a weeks use, my first impressions are very positive!

Delivered the next day. Great service

This is a terrible deal

I have been looking to get the 5x for ages then the plus comes out glad I waited

Also, make sure you're a sporty person who's able to record a lot of activities. Otherwise it just becomes a constant reminder of how out of shape you are.

These are great watches, but with the fenix 5 plus just announced, I'd expect the price of this model to drop quite quickly in the near future. At this point in time, this doesn't seem very hot.

Like lemurs and gorillas are similar and both are mammal "style". If you insist.

I used the word "Similar" purposely as they have likenesses, the style is "Edifice Chronograph" which they all are. Anyway I think they have all sold so somebody thought they were worth purchasing.

But the style of watch is far from the same.

Each to their own mate. I've seen them on so many occasions they don't excite me anymore although I appreciate the amazing skills.

Yeah fair one. Red Arrows a bit of a classic British thing I suppose. You don't really support and follow red arrows like you would a sports team.

Nice watch...... I like Citizen Eco Drives, but for a special edition Red Arrows job, and at this price, i'd expect sapphire crystal.

looks pretty ugly to me

I'm impressed. Ordered about 4pm yesterday delivered 9am today without paying for next day delivery. Very happy - on first impressions ; including the strap!

Why not go for a leather strap?

Comment It's not a cheap strap. That kind of rubber band is very nice quality, feels solid and fits both casual or smart style. I have this watch for bit more than 2 years now and I'm very happy. Everybody who sees this watch says it's great. I got a lot of positive feedback about its look and build quality.

Bad luck on that, after hearing some bad things about this company I found them to be very helpful and quick, excellently packaged etc. I would recommend them and will probably end up buying more watches I don't need from them too.

Nice to see some of you guys landed this bargain.. I purchased the last one but my order was cancelled because of a quality control issue on the last one! to be fair to the company they offered me a further discount on any other watches in stock, I kindly asked for my money back instead.

Good job you didn't buy it then... :) Each to their own, but I prefer the Shocks. If I wanted a watch that looked like an Edifice I'd buy a Citizen Eco Drive.

much prefer the ediface to the g-shock

It's grown on me during the day... good looking chunky watch, much nicer looking than my GW Shocks. Lighter than my Protrek too which is good. I've been looking around and can't find it for less than £330, so I'm happy I invested.
