Random question for everyone....do you call these Rawl Plugs or Wall Plugs? I remember from my childhood, my old man always called them Rawl Plugs (I guess similar to people calling a vacuum cleaner a Hoover), so that's what I call them, but my wife's family always refer to them as Wall Plugs.

Either. "Rawl plugs" is like "Allen keys" - named after the inventor or first manufacturer. "Wall plugs" is like "hex keys" - basically they're the same thing but you're more likely to see them listed in a catalogue under the more generic term and probably more likely to hear them referred to by normal people as "Rawl" or "Allen" as that's what they've learnt them to be called by word of mouth.

Great plugs but quite difficult to get hold of, at least near to me. I had to resort to standard reds from Rawlplug, they're ok but not a patch on the Fischer.

Are these any good for plasterboard or just solid walls? Just wondering as have nightmares with virtually anything I put up on walls!

Looking at the pictures attached (to deal) this plug would be suitable for plasterboard and solid walls.
Use a plug that is only for solid walls on plasterboard and yes your shelves are going to come tumbling down

I use these for almost everything. Only issue is today the wife wanted the shelves removed and getting these out the wall to replaster is difficult because they stay in so well
