    When we bought our house, we went through dozens of different wall plugs or similar solutions. These are incredible and are by far the best for nearly all applications. Where things have come close over time, these were also a painless replacement to make things snug. Highly, highly recommended. Don’t use anything else now for any application.

    Perfect timing. Need to hang up some curtains and blinds on plasterboards. Would this be overkill or should I use the 6mm diameter ones? Thx

    I try to use bigger fixings on curtains / blinds as they tend to get yanked and pulled over time. Sometimes I'll even drill the mounting brackets to accept larger screws.

    Are these actually any good on Dot and Dab plasterboard? Other than Gripits or spring loaded most others have been rubbish.

    Best ones I found for dot and dab are called Corefix 100mm. I used them to hang a 25kg+ mirror and wall mount a TV. There is a good video on YouTube on how to fix.

    Any recommendations for lath and plaster walls from early 1900s?

    Rip it down and start again. 😁

    Failing that, these have worked fine in our lathe and plaster walls. Perhaps because I normally get through to the brick it backs onto.

    It will work yes, but depends what type of bracket / how much force will be applied to it. Might need to look at drywall anchors or spring toggles.

    When working on the tools I always used a dab of PVA glue on the plug to secure them when using in in old plaster walls etc always worked a treat.
