So i forgot to add, from Sunday 29th.

You're best off spending a bit more, rather than buying this carp.

great, I love getting my rod out

I was thinking of selling my top of the range carp gear, does that kind of thing sell on here ? I bought it 3 years ago and have only been fishing once due to the arrival of our daughter (no time for fishing)
From memory, its 3 harrison ballista 2.75tc rods, with aero baitrunner 10000gte (gtx ?) reels, shimano antares match rod and reel, specimen landing net, holdall, an old carp pole (garbolino rio) never used but had 8 years now, an old shimano ultegra match rod etc etc. Other bits and pieces etc. If anyone is looking for carp gear I'll list with photos etc

why do i think this stuff will be used more by middle aged men rather than bikini clad blonds as per this photo?

The middle aged men who buy this stuff become babe magnets and have to beat off bikini clad blondes with a stick.

I bought the fly starter kit thing last year, and it seems ok - I think if you're serious about wanting to start fly fishing you'd have to pay for casting lessons or go with someone who already knows hows to though.

Generally the stuff in Aldi and Lidl is quite good quality - the freespool reels they had in Lidl a few weeks ago were fantastic especially for the price. The only thing you need to watch for is the 'tacke set' contents. Certainly at Lidl this can be risky because they sell stuff like 'pike kit' with tiny floats and 6oz lures in them i.e. stuff that is totally inappropriate for its advertised use.

it is mostly crap, i went last year to see what they had for a laugh, the only stuff worth buying is the ground bait if they have it again this time
