I know this is an expensive axe and likely to go very cold ... but it is apparently the Rolls Royce of splitting axes to get some wood split for your wood burners and it might help one person out there!

I've been watching the UK version on camelcamel for ages to come under £65 (which it hasn't in a while) and looking on Amazon.com you can get it delivered from USA for £46.

Can't see it cheaper.

This is highly likely to get import tax slapped on because of what it is, so it would most likely end up costing you more. (Not voted just warning.)

The £45.72 does include an Import Fees Deposit of GBP 7.62 - do you think that would cover this ?

I did the same.... Awesome splitter - Wish I'd bought one a long time ago.. Well worth the money and will out perform cheaper ones by a long stretch.

Me too. The axe is so sharp, that before i started cutting wood, I sliced 2mm thin slices of tomato with it! thats how sharp they are. It even splits those difficult knotty logs quite easy. On amazon DE, they also sell a sharpener for it. I didn't order one as they were about £8 but wish I had.

Don't bother as they are not very good for axes/splitters. Just a short metalworking file will be better, with a stone to dress (if you are particular...) I use a Ralph Martindale 6" file (£2.99 + .99p p&p from Ebay)
